Due to a significant, multi-generational family history of breast cancer, I was a 55 year old candidate for prophylactic bilateral mastectomy and breast reconstruction in early 2015. I interviewed three highly-recommended plastic surgeons--Dr. Lemaine was the only one of the three who offered me a nipple-sparing pre-pectoral reconstruction, a newer option at that time. (The other two said I was not a candidate for either.) I am so pleased with my results! Both esthetically speaking and practically; because of the pre-pectoral implant placement I do not have to curtail my exercise or deal with animation deformity. This was big surgery, with a long recovery period. And I am grateful each and every day since that I was able to reduce my risk of breast cancer with such a great surgical and esthetic outcome. In 2019, I used Dr. Lemaine for an elective implant revision which turned out beautifully. I appreciate that she sees her patients as deserving of the very best surgical techniques available.
