I think you are a great candidate for no prep porcelain veneers. Bonding can be done but it does stain and chip much easier than porcelain veneers. Most of your teeth are on the smaller side as well as the back teeth flair inward. So we could do 10 porcelain veneers to get more length and more fullness while keeping them looking very natural. I usually tell people bonding will last between 3-5 years and porcelain veneers will last about 20 years.
Hello, my name is Dr Tyler Hales and I specialize in smile makeovers and veneers. I normally tell my patients to wait at least 6 months before I will replace them depending on what it is they don't like. I like to have an open conversation about it. What specifically do you not like about your veneers?
Hello, porcelain veneers will be stronger and have better aesthetics than composite. Composite usually discolors and wears a lot faster. So if you were to do porcelain veneers you would get a better aesthetic result and longer outcome.
Replacing old crowns with new ones should not be very invasive and require lots of time off. Crown lengthening is a lot more invasive which I'm sure you experienced after that surgery. To reduce the swollen gums you want to make the crowns not so bulky with porcelain and have a more natural look and feel to them.
You can definitely mask the dark tooth underneath. When I am preping a dark tooth I like to prep it a little more to provide more porcelain to mask the dark color. Also I would put a white liner before taking impressions so that the tooth has a brighter appearance when we seat the new crown. I feel like the crowns could use a little more length. Ideally, I like my two front teeth to match the length of the canines which are the sharper teeth.
