It sounds like you may have dry eye. Use your lubricants very four hours in the beginning as the ye may get dry for the first few weeks.
Most people will need reading glasses after lasik if they have distance correction. Most patients have lasik to see clearly with out glasses, even people that have seen perfectly their whole lives need reading glasses after or around 45 even though they have not had a Lasik procedure. The cause is not the cornea but the lens that fails to accommodate like it did when you were younger.
I would wait a month for the swelling to resolve, I would make sure that there is no dryness and that the eye lids can close properly before assessment for Lasik. If all the parameters are ok then one can go ahead.
