At my office, I've noted that clients who shave closer to their treatments have a higher incidence rate of folliculitis and in-trap tears. Each provider will have their own preferences. Assuming that the product was properly stored at cool temperature before being injected, you should anticipate seeing some reduction in muscle movement starting within 24 to 36 hour, with full effect on muscle movement reduction being seen at 14 days. However, with proper placement of Dysport there should be no change in lip positioning, only an elevation to the corners of the mouth. In order to avoid this unintentional outcome, I prefer placing Dysport slightly behind the DAO and low on the jawline where the DAO attaches.
