When I look in the mirror, I don’t like seeing frown lines between my eyes or facial folds by my nose and mouth. I have had Juvederm and Botox injections previously by Dr. Kerner and was very satisfied with the results. When it was time for a refresh, Staci, the office manager, suggested I try a product called Bellafill that has been tested to last up to 5 years. I opted for the nasal area first. The cost is more than Juvederm, however, with the potential for 5 years, it seems worth it. Dr. Kerner has great skill with injections. After Jamie, his wonderful nurse, numbed the area, the pain was minimal. I had some minor bruising lasting about three days. Concealer worked well to help with discoloration. Two weeks later, I am seeing the results. Staci showed me some before/after pics and what a difference.
Dr. Kerner was very thorough and patient. He explained the procedure and answered all my questions. I felt very prepared and at ease. I am super happy with my results and much more confident now that my acne scars are fading. I will definitely be returning for more Bellafill and my Botox.
Bellafill and Juvederm are two different types of medication that work in two different types of ways to correct scarring. They should NOT interact with each other. I would never inject them both in the same day since if a person had an allergic reaction, we would not know which agent caused it. However, it should be safe to inject Bellafill after about 1 week later after getting Juvederm, so yes, you are safe to get the Bellafill now. As always, consult with a medical professional first as they will know your full history.
Collagen is a wonderful thing that everyone who comes to this site is hoping to have rebuilt. Many companies know this and are doing everything they can to capitalize on that. At this time, we know, and the FDA has helped us prove, that collagen can be stimulated from the inside thanks to wonderful products such as Bellafill and Sculptra. However, it has not been proven that a supplement can help to regenerate collagen. The supplements certainly will not hurt, but I would not expect dramatic changes to occur if you take them in addition to Bellafill.
There are currently no FDA studies that indicate that it is safe to have any fillers or Botox procedures done while you are nursing. Due to the slight chance that the filler could have a systemic effect and enter your blood stream, it would be unwise to risk the chance that the baby could receive any side effects of the medication through your breast milk. It’s best to wait until your baby is no longer nursing and then consult a physician for any procedures that you would like.
YES. You can do this in mild cases but please first consult with a professional since this can be challenging. Injecting dermal fillers along the jawline can act as a liquid facelift. Significant sagging usually requires surgery.
Occasionally, yes but each case is best determined by a consult with a professional. Botox is useful for enlarged, tight cheeks if you have TMJ but it is not useful if a person simply has excessive adipose (fat) tissue on their cheeks. This is best remedied with surgery.
