I consulted with a few doctors when I decided to get a tummy tuck. Based on online reviews, looking at photo galleries and lots of other research, she was at the top of my list. As soon as I met Dr. Ballard and her team at Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery, there was no question that she was the right surgeon for me. I was impressed with her taking time to get to know me and asking what my goals were before my exam started. She was very personable and easy to talk with. She did not try to talk me into anything I hadn’t asked for and was very straightforward and honest with her recommendations. From the point of my initial consultation, through my procedure and recovery, everything went better than I could’ve expected. I had a tummy tuck, liposuction to the flanks, and muscle repair. I followed all of her recommendations and had a great recovery. She and her team were responsive to any questions I had. My results have turned out great and my confidence has improved immensely thanks to her and her surgical skills. I can’t recommend Dr. Ballard enough and if I had to do things over again, I wouldn’t change anything!
I cannot recommend Dr. Ballard enough! I recently had a labiaplasty performed and I am beyond thrilled with the results. From the moment I walked in the entire team made me feel at ease. Dr. Ballard was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer any questions I had which really helped me ease the nerves. She was warm and approachable which immediately made me feel comfortable and confident in my decision. During the procedure itself, I was surprised to find that I felt absolutely no pain (they even played music and let me read my kindle!), Dr. Ballard and Christina made sure to check and make sure I was comfortable throughout - everything was so well managed, the experience was extremely smooth. As for the recovery, it was easier than I had anticipated! I had minimal discomfort and the aftercare instructions were clear and easy to follow (they give you a little goody bag with the essentials!). I felt supported during the whole time and the results have exceeded my expectations (I am currently 3 weeks post op). I’m thrilled with my decision to go to Ann Arbor Plastic Surgery. If you’re considering this procedure (no matter the age - I’m 25!) this place is definitely where you want to go! :-)
Dr. Ballard is an amazing surgeon and a wonderful person. Her office location and surgical facilities are clean and beautiful and her staff are knowledgeable and kind. I came to Dr. Ballard with many unrelated previous abdominal surgeries so my case was more complicated than others due to previous scar tissue. She performed an abdominoplasty with absolutely no issues. The surgery details and pre and post op expectations were fully explained verbally and in writing before and after the surgery. My results are better than I even imagined. If you’re on the fence regarding which surgeon to pick or whether to take the leap, Dr. Ballard is the surgeon to pick.
Dr. Ballard did a wonderful job on my labiaplasty, and I couldn't be happier. I was extremely nervous about this procedure, but Dr. Ballard and her team made it a breeze! The patient care coordinator, Christina, answered all of my crazy questions and guided me through the process from start to finish. During surgery, I was incredibly nervous about being awake, but the nurse who stayed by my side kept me calm (and distracted). It was over before I knew it! Despite being a slow healer, I found that much of my discomfort subsided after 10 days (minus swelling, which is normal). If you follow the post-op instructions closely, I believe you will be very happy with you results! Dr. Ballard did a great job with my anatomy and I am much more comfortable and confident. During my follow-up appointments, Dr. Ballard was kind and willing to hear any and all concerns. I would recommend her to everyone thinking about this surgery.
I had a phenomenal experience with Dr. Ballard and her team. Everyone answered my questions and put me at ease. The pain during and after my labiaplasty was minimal to none, I just followed the amazing post and pre operation directions that I was given. The nurse also had gone through those prior during a pre operation meeting to make sure I fully understood and could ask any questions. I went for a hike the other day and did not have to adjust myself once. Sex is now more comfortable for me, making me more confident and it more enjoyable. Dr. Ballard is a true artist and understands that each labiaplasty is unique, she crafted my anatomy to feel like myself but now more functional. The healing process is about trusting the process. My swelling took a little longer to go down than most patients, but I did not have any pain after the first 48 hours at all. I am in my early 30s and now wish I would have done it sooner. I can’t thank the team enough.
This review is for the women out there who have been thinking about a labiaplasty but have been too nervous or embarrassed to take the steps. I Couldn’t. Be. More. Pleased. with the experience I had with Dr. Ballard and her team. The process of consultation, procedure, and aftercare was so smooth, professional and reassuring. Never at any point did the team make me feel weird or embarrassed about my body and the changes I wanted to achieve with labiaplasty. It made me feel so good and normal to learn that this is a really common procedure that so many women seek. When Dr. Ballard told me that the #1 comment she hears from women after the procedure is “I wish I would have done this twenty years earlier,” I felt like she was reading my mind. The procedure itself was painless, I didn’t feel anything and I actually started falling asleep about halfway through. The healing and aftercare was a breeze. There was a bit of discomfort during the first three days, but it was easily calmed with Motrin and an ice pack. I took two weeks off of work to recover from this procedure because I wanted to give my body time to heal, but honestly I have had to force myself to lay around and take it easy because there has just been zero pain. It has been incredibly easy to recover from and I just keep asking myself, Why did I wait so long to do this??? It was so much harder to recover from getting my tonsils removed and my wisdom teeth pulled than having the labiaplasty. This is such a quick, badda boom badda bing procedure, there is no reason to spend years debating over it. Make yourself the appointment and go live your best life!!! Updated on 4 Sep 2024: I wanted to leave this review for anyone who has been considering having a labiaplasty but has been too nervous or embarrassed to go through with it. I had this procedure done by Dr. Ballard last month and I couldn’t be happier with the process and result. The process consisted of a consultation with Dr. Ballard where she explained the procedure and answered any questions I had. She is very sweet and made me feel like my wanting to have a labiaplasty was really normal and common. She then gave me a super quick physical exam to make sure I was a good candidate for the procedure, and then we scheduled the date. On the day of the procedure (which was less than two hours long), I didn’t feel anything and actually started to doze off toward the end! The recovery was so smooth. It was less painful than when I had to recover from getting my tonsils and wisdom teeth removed. It was actually more just discomfort than actual pain. Any soreness was alleviated just by taking Motrin and using an ice pack. After the first week, I felt great; I had to kind of force myself to lay around and take it easy for another week so my skin could heal. Now, four weeks later, I feel amazing. If I had known what a quick and simple process this whole thing would be, and that I would not feel embarrassed or judged at any moment, I would have done this 20 years ago!!! I am so, so pleased with the outcome and the entire experience I’ve had with Dr. Ballard and her team. I highly recommend to them to anyone seeking guidance on this personal issue. No regrets whatsoever - besides waiting so long to do it!
I went to two consults before my tummy tuck. I was happy with the first doctor but when I meet Dr. Ballard, I knew she is who I wanted. The office explains everything. Dr. Ballard has protocols in place to prevent any infections. The surgery went great and I was only on pain meds for 3 days and walking straight by my follow-up appt. At 6 weeks, my scar looks amazing and I have had no complications. Dr. Ballard enjoys what she does and she is very good at what she does. I would recommend her to anyone that wants a tummy tuck. Dr. Ballards staff is so amazing. They follow up and if I had questions they were very prompt in responding to me. One thing to consider with looking for a surgeon is what they offer. I paid the office one fee and that included my surgery center, pre and post op appointments, compression garments and Shelley gives you some very helpful hints. I am so please with my results.
I would not suggest filler to address your concern, as your lips are in good proportion and have an aesthetically pleasing shape with the exception of the excess mucosa centrally in your upper lip. Your concern is best addressed with a minor surgical excision of this tissue to improve the contour and increase the tooth show as you demonstrate in your photo depicting your goal outcome. The procedure can likely be performed by an experienced surgeon under local anesthetic in his or her office.
Headaches after treatment with a neuromodulator such as Botox or Dysport typically last a few hours to a few days. You may treat your headache with a pain reliever like Tylenol or Advil; take the medication as directed for relief until it resolves. The result of the neuromodulator itself may take up to 2 weeks for full effect.
Thank you for your question. I do not inject lip filler in the setting of an active cold sore and recommend rescheduling your appointment and waiting until it is fully resolved. In addition, if you have a history of cold sores, your provider will likely prescribe a course of a prophylactic anti-viral medication (Valtrex) to take when you have lip filler performed to reduce the risk of a cold sore developing.
While we often think of the face as giving away a person's age, your hands can be just as telling. Hands may appear aged due to several reasons, including sun damage to the skin and loss of volume, which makes veins appear more prominent. The skin can be addressed with IPL to reduce the appearance of the brown spots. It is important to wear sunscreen every day to reduce any further sun damage and the development of more spots. Volume can be added in the form of a filler or fat transfer and will reduce the prominence of the veins by increasing the subcutaneous layer of the dorsal hand. A treatment plan that addresses both the skin and volume loss will lead to the best results.

Returning to exercise after that is typically safe but may exacerbate swelling, so if you experience significant swelling following your treatment you may want to avoid exercise for 48-72 hours.
