QUESTIONS ANSWERED

I've had problems with eyesight for 6 years. I have -1.75D for both eyes. I need 6/6 vision to join. Would Lasik help?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Actually, PRK may be a better choice for you depending upon the outcome of your evaluation by your doctor, particularly if you want to join the service.

For e.g., we recommend PRK vs. LASIK for US Navy Seals and other service men and women, depending upon the type of job that they would perform.

With PRK, since there is no flap, there is a reduced chance of flap complications among other advantages.

See the link below for info on PRK

I had lasik surgery 2 wks ago, but I don't see any difference in my night sight and still have blurred moments. Is this normal?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
This is normal.  Your eyes are going through a normal healing process.

Please make sure you go for your post-op visits as determined by your surgeon so that they can evaluate your progress and make any adjustments to your post-operative regimen, if necessary.

Normally, you should be able to good vision within a month or so.

All the best.

How Does the Payment Arrangements Work and How Much and Can I Get It Done on my One I Can See out of at All?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
We accept cash, checks, credit cards and also zero interest payment plans for 24 mos. through Care Credit.  You can apply online on their web site.

Our price is generally $2,000 per eye.

Most people have both eyes done in order to see clearly.

As long as you have good corrective vision w/ glasses or contacts in both eyes, you could possibly be a candidate.  We also have to evaluate the thickness of your cornea, your prescription, your astigmatism and general health of your eyes in order to determine whether or not you are a good candidate for LASIK.

Thank you.

My Power in Right Eye is -4.5 and Left Eye 3.5 How Can Lasik Surgery Help Me in Removing my Spects?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This refractive error is a fairly typical for what we treat with LASIK surgery.  In a patient under age 40, we would typically attempt to correct all the myopia, and you would likley be free from any glasses until some time in your 40's, when normal aging changes would require reading glasses.  If you are already over age 40, your surgeon will likely discuss monovision with you, where one eye is treated for distance, and the other eye is left with some degree of nearsightedness, to help reduce the dependence on reading glasses.

Blurry Left Eye 10 Years After Lasik?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

There are many reasons why your eye may have become more blurred over time, but without knowing more details, it is difficult to guess.  If you started out as hyperopic (far-sighted) there may have been some natural progression of the hyperopia over time, which would have occurred whether you had surgery or not.  If myopic (near-sighted), it is unusual to have significant regression over time.  I would recommend a complete eye exam to look for a problem like cataract formation or significant regression of the LASIK treatment.

Would Definitely Recommend!!! - Kingston, PA

Very professional and highly educated. Doesn't try to talk you into multifocal lenses like some other eye surgeons do on everyone. He did what was best for me. He didn't seem hurried and sat with me to answer all my questions. Very personable. The OR staff was very good and very calming. Have to get my other eye done this year and I feel confident I'm in good hands so my anxiety level has greatly decreased. Would highly recommend!!!

The Power of Great Vision - Scranton, PA

I had corrective lenses from age 6, and before surgery, I could not tell you what type of shoes I had on without glasses or contacts. Today, 5+ years later, I have better than 20/20 vision, and my sight is no longer a constant worry. My only wish is that I had not waited so long!

The Best $ I Have EVER Spent - Scranton, PA

It also didn't hurt to have better than 20/20 vision the very next day! It took some time after the procedure for my night vision to return to normal due to my eyes sensitivity to light caused by the procedure, but overall my vision is still as good (if not better) as it was right after the surgery. Highly recommend!

Custom Lasik - Scranton, PA

I started wearing glasses when I was three and then eventually contacts. My eyes were so bad that I couldn't even see the alarm clock. It's a good thing a good friend of mine is an eye doctor so it didn't take to much persuasion. It's been four years since the surgery and I am so glad I did it! Not having to deal with glasses or contacts and being able to see as soon as you wake up. The only con is my night time driving vision isn't as good as it used to be. It's slowly getting better though.

A Life Altering Decision I'm So Glad I Made - Scranton, PA

One of the best decisions I've ever made. Life is so much easier without stuggle with contacts and glasses, something I wasn't really expecting. Surgery was so quick and painless, i was shocked. Dr. Boland and his team were amazing, and made the whole experience pleasant from start to finish. i would highly recommend Lasik to those who can qualify, as it's such a life change and certainly worth the money spent. I've never thought twice about this decision and Dr. Boland and his team were very informative on all aspects from the procedure, to the post op, and even financing. It was so wonderful. I just never expected it to be so easy and make such a difference.

Life Changing - Scranton, PA

It is amazing how a few minutes have changed my life! In minutes it was over and I was headed to recovery! I was already seeing a difference in my vision! It has been over a year now and my visions continues to get better! I have had no complications from the procedure besides my eyes being dry at times. The best part is waking up every morning and being able to see my alarm clock. Overall the experience has been amazing. I can’t express how much the surgery has improved my life. I recommend NEI and Lasik surgery to everyone that can benefit.
