MY husband and I have officially started our long awaited and anticipated "Smile Makeovers" with our recent initial dental implants procedure. We saved up as it can be quite a lot for dental implants for one person, let alone two! I got my initial information off of a wonderful YouTuber kalinjax; for anyone who has or is facing the fear or uncertainty of dentures or implants, I highly recommend watching her journey videos on YouTube or even emailing her. A lot of time and effort went into sharing with this community so that people like me could start my own journey with knowledge and most of all, a new perspective and CONFIDENCE about dentures/denture implants and the stigma I thought was connected to it. It truly is a game changer and honestly made my life so much better. The second step was three different consultations with Doctors and their office in with this specialty-everything from location, cost, to bedside manner and options are things to consider when choosing. We chose Sedation & Implant Dentistry of Las Vegas, with Dr. Thomas Gonzalez. We've had our temporaries implanted thus far, so I will be editing this review to add the final results! Shavon/Front office staff as well as Assistant Joy have been incredible so far, and of course Dr. Gonzalez!
After more then 50 years of dental pain, was left with four lower front teeth and one crown in front on top. After much research I was able to find a sedation dentist I felt I could trust. After making the appointment I stood outside his office and trying to decide if this is what I wanted to do. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by friendly warm people. Doctor Gonzales spoke to me at length, his procedures were very interesting to me. After being asked if he just "take a look" I agreed. Never any pressure or selling tactics. After two visits I woke with dental implants, upper and lower with beautiful teeth. Updated on 15 Jul 2015: July 15, 2015. I schedule a cleaning every four months. The staff and doctors are the best I've seen.
The All on Four procedure will require time for the implants to integrate into the bone to be completely stable. This time usually take approximately 6 months from the placement of the implants to the delivery of the final prosthesis. During that time, you will have a temporary prosthesis placed, which will be replaced at the end of the procedure. On very rare cases, you will need to be placed into dentures until the implants have integrated before a prosthesis can be fixed to the implants. The healing time is based on how well the implants integrate into the bone and everyone is different, this cannot be accurately predicted. As for the All on 4 procedure, it is a concept created by Paulo Malo. All on 4 is a license trademark of Nobel Biocare and Clear Choice does not exclusive rights to the procedure.
In a very simplified-generalized answer, yes you can get a single arch all on 4. For a complete answer you would need to have a full complete exam and ensure that you are a candidate for an all on 4 procedure. A dentist would like to know if your opposing teeth are healthy enough to function against a hybrid prosthesis and if it is a possible treatment to place an all on 4 prosthesis.
The part that fell out of your mouth is most likely a healing abutment. It is used to cover the implant to protect it. They fall out occasionally and just need to be tightened back on. It is not something to be overly concerned about but make sure you see the dentist soon to get it replaced.
Teeth whitening is very safe if performed correctly. There is be no damage caused to the teeth with the whitening products. Just make sure you follow the doctors instructions and everything will be safe.
If the bite feels uncomfortable, best if you go back to your dentist and have the crown adjusted. If the bite is off and you wait too long, this can create more severe issues that will require additional treatment.
