Now, in my late 50's the "donut ring" around my belly was beginning to be just too stubborn so I decided to give myself a birthday present in April 2019 and go for Sculpsure locally at a Doctor's office. I never saw the actual “supervising” doctor herself. Another doc, however, came in to say hello (“everything looks fine”, she said) before the Sculpsure technician. Natasha, began the treatment. She thought my body weight and form was ideal for the procedure. I was happy. She said that only 20% reduction is a typical result. But even that would have been nice. After two treatments there is NO difference whatsoever. The treatments took a couple of hours as there were only so many "packs" that the laser machine was able to handle at a time. The treatment felt like pinching contractions and almost to the point when I couldn't stand it. Just when I thought I’ll scream, the pinch released for a few seconds. The “contractions” were quite unpleasant. After the first treatment, I sensed tiny contractions for a week or two and thought I might be losing the fat cells but after the second treatment in May I didn’t continue feeling anything. I’m really disappointed as I was hoping to get a jumpstart for losing that donut ring and fit in my clothes again. I'm going in August to see if something has changed and we'll compare my before and after photos. So, maybe there is? still hope? Updated on 6 Sep 2019: After finally spending the $4K at Dr Girolami's on two sets of Sculpsure treatments I must advise anyone thinking of this, DON'T! I was foolish to think this would get me back to my slimmer self - and even the technician said I'm an ideal candidate: not overweight but just cannot lose the 3-4 extra pounds on my waist anymore. It got stuck after I turned 52... I never met Dr. Girolami who I thought would be doing this procedure. It is contracted out to a technician who specializes in laser treatments. She was very nice and seemed very knowledgable. However, even she was almost embarrassed how there was no change whatsoever in my form. The treatment is NOT fun, it's quite painful and results not worth the pain and the cost.
It may not work for all people, but you can expect a 24% fat reduction in the area treated, but results do vary from patient.
