Am I a candidate for lipo with a tummy tuck? I am 5'2, 196 lbs, 36 BMI, and a childbearing age. (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Great question! Based on your photos, you are a candidate for a TT with liposuction of the hips and flanks. I do recommend that you consider whether you are going to have children in the next couple of years, bc that will affect the timing of your surgery. In the meanwhile, I recommend beginning some lifestyle changes that will help you get closer to your ideal weight, and healthier for possible future surgery. I am a Holistic PS and have a Wellness Center, and so I have my patients begin improving their overall lifestyle even before any surgery, like nutrition, exercise, stress reduction, lymphatic drainage massage, meditation, etc. That way you are taking care of yourself in a comprehensive manner, not just focusing on the belly. Hope this helps! Good luck! Dr. Tamy

I am curious as to how much larger I can go and still have a a reasonably natural look. Thoughts? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question. Your breasts look well positioned and aesthetically pleasing at the current size. I would not suggest going any bigger, as you will stretch your skin envelope and increase your risk of complications significantly. As the implants get bigger, it becomes difficult to maintain a natural look. Good luck! Dr. Tamy

Is a lift absolutely necessary for me? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for your question. Based on your photos, you need to have a breast augmentation with a breast lift. It is not likely possible to get a pleasing aesthetic shape with implants only, given your anatomy. The scars tend to heal well since they are placed in discreet areas, but all in all you are improving the shape of the breast, and accepting a scar. Hope this helps, good luck, Dr. Tamy

I have dynamic breast deformity after 5 interventions. What else can I do? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Sounds frustrating! This is a challenging problem, when it persists despite several revisions. Botox may be a worthwhile option for short term relief. Good luck! Dr. Tamy

Why is my breast diameter measurement different according to 5 different doctors? What is the logic behind measurements?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Great question! Base diameter of the breast is just one of the measurements plastic surgeons use to assess which implant to use. It is not an exact science and will have some variability between surgeons. The most important consideration in my opinion, is a thorough comprehensive consultation with your BC PS so that you are both on the same page as to the size and shape of the breast you will be getting. I use sizers during the surgery to assess the right width and volume of the final implant to be used, the sizer is a temporary intra-operative implant used for this purpose. But the preoperative communication between patient and surgeon remains the most important tool for success! Hope this helps, good luck! Dr. Tamy

Why is my nipple in my armpit?! (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Great question! Usually this result is achieved bc the nipples are laterally displaced preop and the implants accentuate and exacerbate this anatomy. Might help you to ask your surgeon to review your preop photos with you. Hope this helps, good luck! Dr. Tamy

Which incision is best for breast augmentation?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Great question! My preference is an inframammary incision for silicone implants (I use periareolar incisions for saline implants if the patient prefers). In general, both these scars heal very well with minimal visibility. The risk of permanent loss of nipple sensation or ability to breastfeed with these scars is minimal , though if you are very concerned then the only way to totally avoid the risk is to have the augmentation after you are done having children. Good luck! Dr. Tamy

Do I have to wear my surgical bra or sports bra all the time?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Great question! I'm glad you're feeling great postop, though I wouldn't overdo it! I have my patients use support surgical bras 4wks post op, and the implants drop and settle regardless, over the first 3months. Being only 11days postop could put you at risk for injury if you overdo it since your surgical pocket is still healing. Good luck! Dr. Tamy

Areola expanding after surgery. PS says that even if revision was done they would probably expand again. Is this true?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Great question! In general, areolae tend to stretch after breast augmentation, and it's not uncommon to have some subtle asymmetry. It is likely worthwhile to revise them if they bother you a lot, though be aware that they could re-stretch again. There are surgical techniques known to minimize areolar spread, ask your surgeon about them. Good luck! Dr. Tamy

Can I get breast implants again after having an explant?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Great question! In general, it's best to wait 6months for any reoperation. The existing pockets from which the implants were removed need to heal before the implants can be reinserted. The most important part of the surgery is the preop consultation, where I spend easily an hour reviewing my patient's expectations and answer questions so that we have assessed all the options and can proceed comfortable and with confidence. Please be sure to rediscuss your options at length. Good luck! Dr. Tamy

Amazing Experience!

Dr. Faierman is truly one of the best! She was thorough during every single pre op and post op appt, and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. I'm extremely happy with my results and will definitely be referring Dr. Faierman. Also, the office literally feels like a spa and the staff is so welcoming and kind. I also have to mention Veronica, the massage therapist -- she was amazing!

Tummy Tuck

It's Never too Late

I'm 63 and overweight and I had 2 c sections and an appendectomy yrs ago, my abdomen just hung. I decided to have a tummy tuck and lipo and I can't believe the difference. The team and Dr. Faierman were great! I haven't had my usual back pain and I feel pretty again. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs to feel good about themselves again, at any age! This spa is highly professional!

Absolutely Loved Her

Love it. She is the kindest, I felt completely understood. Dr Faierman staff is also warm. The whole environment of the office is different from any other Dr's office. Maybe it is because she has a spa
