There is a video of me 4 months post accutane. It worked like a charm. I got extremely red and pale and hated being on it but within a few months of being off you start to return to your normal self. Invest in anything and everything to 1) Keep you moisturized and 2) Protect your skin from the sun. DO NOT take these things lightly and everything should be okay.
60 years old and needing to fill where face lost fat. This is my 3rd year and 5 time having Dr. Goodlerner inject Sculptra. The results are very subtle and but effective in obtaining the result. Dr. Goodlerner's technique is excellent. No bruising from this procedure. My appointment was at 9 am, and by 11 am I was back at work looking just great. I get Sculptra every 6 months to 1 year. I have had other fillers over the years, but this one is the best, longest lasting , and most subtle, consistent results. I pass for someone in my early 50s due largely to taking care of myself, but the Sculptra definitely helps.
I've had Radiesse injections with Dr. Goodlerner several times with excellent results. I had my cheeks and nasal labial folds done and it looks great. Dr. Goodlerner not only is an artist with fillers, she has a very gentle hand and I swear, it is not painful. I would highly recommend her services.
I'm having a series of 5 Fraxel Laser treatments for acne scarring due to cystic acne. The treatment itself is a bit painful, but definitely tolerable! Since my scarring is pretty deep on my cheeks, the improvement has been slow but steady. Especially after the 4th treatment, the scarring has really softened and my overall skin tone is much more even. I had the subcision 2 weeks before the 4th Fraxel. Those scars are gone and the areas are smoother. Looking forward to my 5th Fraxel for even further improvement!
Accutane , which is a retinoid is used for more severe cystic acne. It often will put acne into remission when taken for 5 months at a dose of 0.5-1 mg/kg. Low dose Accutane will work while you are taking it , but in the long run , the acne is likely to recur. If you are female another alternative is an oral contreceptive that is approved for acne, sometimes combined with Spironolactone, which blocks female testosterone. This can also be combined with a topical retinoid.
I agree with the prior answer, a vascular laser such as the VBeam laser will work.Or, give the spot time to fade. it may take a year but the majority of red scars will fade to skin color within 1 year or so.
Photodynamic therapy is FDA approved for treatment of precancers or actinic keratoses. They often occur on the scalp in men with hair loss or thinning hair. PDT is very effective treatment for this.
The peeling and redness that may occur with starting tretinoin use varies from person to person. If you have oily skin or have been using exfoliating agents you may have little or no peeling. This will not effect the longterm benefit
The Picosure laser is the most effective for tattoo removal. It is not available everywhere . If there is a university medical center, check with their department of dermatology to see if they do it or have a referral.Older lasers would take 10-20 treatments to eradicate a tattoo, the Pico laser can cut that in half.Best suggestion - don't get more unless with temporary henna. Tattoos are quick to go on and expensive and time consuming to take off
