Dr. Hanna was excellent. I wanted to get the most natural looking breast augmentation that was proportionate to my body frame. I was so concerned that I would appear top heavy. Dr. Hanna took the time to review my concerns and with the 3D imaging it really helped gain confidence in our selection. He is also very available and accessible to address any concerns pre or post op. My post surgery recovery was a dream! (I should have done this years ago!) I would highly recommend Dr. Hanna and trust his judgment.
Dr. Hanna has been amazing over the past year, and I couldn’t be happier with my rhinoplasty and lower eye fat grafting. I’ve also seen him for non-surgical treatments like under-eye filler and botox, and he’s consistently done a fantastic job. My rhino was done almost 3 months ago, and it’s healing so well !! No regrets, I wish I had done it sooner if anything :) Why I Chose Dr. Hanna I’ve always been self-conscious about the darkness under my eyes and the shape of my nose, but I was hesitant to go through with surgery. After reading tons of Google reviews, Reddit threads, and articles, I came across Dr. Ford’s clinic, which had a great reputation. I initially met with Dr. Ford to discuss my concerns, and he was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely cared about his patients. Even though I wasn’t ready to commit to surgery at that point, I asked if I could try under eye filler first, and he recommended I meet with Dr. Hanna. Dr. Hanna was patient, approachable, and never pushy, which made me trust him right away. I started with under-eye filler and masseter botox, and the results were so natural that when I eventually decided to move forward with surgery, I knew he was the right choice. Surgery and Recovery I had rhinoplasty and lower eye fat grafting in early November. Surgery went smoothly, and Dr. Hanna made sure we were aligned on my goals with simulations beforehand. Recovery was tougher than I expected, especially the swelling and bruising in the first few days, but Dr. Hanna was always available for questions, which really helped. Pain was minimal, and by week 3, I was cleared to exercise (which felt great to move again). Results and Adjusting to the Change Being in my early 30s, another worry about this surgery was how my parents and my friends would react. I thought it would be strange to make such a change at such a "later" age, but to my surprise, everyone was so supportive. To be honest, only my closer friends noticed, and most guys didn't LOL. But those that did said it's so natural and well done. I'm going to be honest, my first week I did NOT like how it looked, it almost felt too cute and that it didn't fit my face - I was having imposter syndrome for sure. After about the 4 week mark it started to settle more, decrease in swelling and overall look better. It is now 2.5 months since the surgery, and honestly I do love my nose. I didn't think such a change would make me feel that much more confident and pretty. I still see Dr Hanna for regular check ups, and I have my ~6 month coming up in April. He continues to keep me updated with the healing process and check in and allow me to ask any questions or raise any concerns. It really does only get better so I'm excited to continue to heal and have that support. All of this to say - I highly recommend Dr Hanna - and Rhinoplasty if that's what you are looking for!
Dr Hanna was a complete professional and throughout all of my visits was understanding , caring and he really is a perfectionist which is what you want when you are having plastic surgery. I had a face and neck lift as well lower eye lids. My Daughter keeps starring at me saying how natural it looks, unlike some of the women on tv. He is extremely well trained and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to have this type of surgery.
I couldn’t be more confident, or willing, to recommend Dr. Steven Hanna as your plastic surgeon. He’s a perfectionist! My surgical results well exceeded my expectations. Never rushed, no questions left unanswered, and, post-op follow up was above and beyond! Search no more…..he’s the best!!!
You have the chance to discuss and work with Dr. Hanna together in deciding which surgical procedure is best for you at present. Dr. Hanna did an upper bleph together with my lower face/neck deep plane lift. Minimal scarring and it took 2 months to see the final result. Very pleased with the natural results and keeping in mind not to feminize the face but keep it masculine yet making sure that the proceed was worth it. Very pleased. Updated on 23 Feb 2024: 60 days post-op from the day of surgery photo was taken showing the results of a neck lift and deep plane lower facelift. Doesn't feel tight but my chin is clearly "snatched" from 2 months ago. A man's jawline and neck make a difference in the aging process.
The Most Gifted Surgeon for Men’s Neck/Lower Facelift Dr. Hanna truly is gifted to be both artistic and yet practical and his approach to male lower facelifts and necklifts. You work together with him in deciding what outcome you are looking for together with how it will look in the decade forward. Finding a surgeon is based on his credentials and seeing that he is now side by side with Dr. Derek Ford speaks volumes of the quality surgery you will receive. Virtual and live consultation is your confirmation if the doctor is right for you. I knew Dr. Hanna was the best surgeon due to working with you in a back and forth of what if we did this or left a procedure out. It is not cut in stone until both doctor and patient feel this is the road to take. There are not many examples of great quality work for men on the net so you do your homework and believe you are in the best hands. My virtual consultation and the day prior meeting were to finalize what we both thought was best. The morning of the surgery I was calm and relaxed due to his kind nature and how he views what needs to be done. After doing the markings and the last questions the surgery began and I woke up in recovery where the most important thing when anyone wakes up is asking the doctor is everything went ok or was there any issues. He assured me all went well and that allowed for peace of mind until I could fully wake up. There was no pain or uneasy feeling. Swelling started to subside post 72 hours of icing every hour for 3 days and sleep as well as blood pressure meds to prevent any issues. No complications during these 2 weeks and sutures came out in 2 sessions on day 7 and day 13 post op. Zero bruising by day 14 post and a razor-sharp chin line very visible at this time. Cheeks settled fine and scars I forgot about as well hidden and it comes down to the skill of the surgeon. When he is as good as Dr. Hanna, you are left with results and no pain or noticeable scars 14 days post. There are many surgeons around the world and various techniques. I got lucky this time by following gut instinct and working together with this skilled professional who only wants the best results. His perfectionist drive to create the best results is why I admire his work but look at my photos as results state everything over words. Upper bleph zero issues and very subtle and this is what men want. Natural results and looking the same yet younger. Highest praise to a truly kind and talented surgeon. Upper bleph photos are to be uploaded in the coming days. Updated on 22 Feb 2024: Neck and lower face/upper bleph all settled very well at 2 months post-op. You can notice a very big difference between 1st and 2nd month post-op. Wonderful surgeon for clean and natural results with minimal pain and roughly 10 days post-op deep healing time. Updated on 24 Feb 2024: 60 day post-op photos. The top photos were taken on the day of my surgery. My neck skin was extremely loose and aside from looking sloppy and hard to shave, it aged my face. Dr. Hanna did an incredible job of improving the aesthetics of my neck by reducing unwanted platysmal bands, jowls, and neck fat and tightening with a deep plane lift which gave this procedure a very natural result.
Dr. Steven A. Hanna possesses all the traits you want in a plastic surgeon: an impressive curriculum vitae, extensive training and expertise in cutting edge techniques, plus a caring and compassionate personality. I was fortunate to consult with the uber-talented Dr. Hanna during his time at MEETH in NYC. Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat is a specialty hospital that has long been the choice of the big apple’s best plastic surgeons,.Dr. Hanna was invited to join an elite, highly selective team. But it was his attitude and approach that really set him apart. Relaxed and professional, he made me feel as if I was his only patient during the pre and post-op experience. He was accessible at all times, 24-7, for any questions and concerns. And I had plenty of questions. He explained every detail clearly, thoroughly and precisely. I presented as a 74 year old “fixer-upper”. Everything about my face was crinkled, wrinkled, sagging or sunken, But…Catch 22,…I also wanted the changes to look completely natural. After reviewing all options, I underwent a dual plane facelift, neck lift and a facial fat transfer to correct my hollow eyes. I knew by day two that I’d be very pleased with the results, Goodbye marionette lines and droopy neck…hello crisp jawline and elevated infrastructure. Just as amazing, my recovery was unbelievably fast. When those stitches came out a week later, I looked like me…just better. And thanks to Dr. Hanna’s skill, my incision lines vanished within weeks. POOF! If you’re thinking about plastic surgery, Dr. Hanna will guide you through to the best possible version of yourself.
I am ~26 years old young man and in overall good health. I underwent Morpheus8 treatment with Dr. Steven Hanna, spending over $9K, on different regions in the body, including arms, tummy, face etc. but got ZERO results. I feel that it was a complete waste of money! I have waited patiently to write this review, holding onto hope, but nothing has changed! I was promised improvement in texture, but I haven't noticed ANY improvement whatsoever! It's disheartening that he even stopped taking pictures after the second session, likely since there were NO results to show. At the last (~ninth) treatment session, I inquired about fillers for the dent since it had no improvement from the Morpheus8 treatment. Instead of addressing my concern, he started to upsell by pointing out line on my neck, which I had never even noticed before and wasn't even being treated! I came out even more insecure than I went in. This entire experience has left me feeling frustrated and betrayed. I can't speak for his surgical skills, but based on my results with around nine treatment sessions, I DO NOT RECOMMEND him! +1 star since the doctor has good communication skills and also gave some discount for additional sessions that got me into getting false hope of continuing this procedure even without results.
Thanks for the excellent question. I would encourage you to seek out a Royal College certified plastic surgeon who performs a large volume for facial rejuventation procedures. Many of the classic signs of facial aging (jowls and neck skin laxity in particular) can be addressed with a facelift. There are many ways to perform a facelift. My preferred technique for facelift surgery is the deep plane facelift as I feel it provides a durable and natural appearing result when compared to skin-only facelift techniques. I will often combine this with facial fat grafting and laser treatment to address facial volume loss and skin degradation respectively -these are signs of aging not addressed by facelift surgery alone.
My practice focuses on facial surgery and I get this question often. The answer is that for healthy patients I very commonly will combine other procedures with a deep plane facelift because facial aging does not usually impact just one area in isolation, it impacts the face in many different areas. Patients remain under general anesthesia for the duration of the procedures, and for healthy patients this is not a problem -we have a dedicated team of certified anesthesiologists to provide the anesthetic. With regards to well-intentioned “pushback” from friends and family, only you can decide if these procedures are right for you. We unfortunately live in a society where there is pressure to look a certain way, but also pressure not to do anything to maintain that appearance. Start by deciding what YOU want and find a surgeon that you are comfortable working with. Make sure you are working with a Royal College certified Plastic Surgeon with Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship training. They will be most up to date on facelift techniques such as deep plane facelift, and combination procedures.
The scientific evidence around the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in aesthetic/cosmetic surgery is not very robust, so there are differing opinions on how best to use it and those opinions tend to be based on individual surgeon’s experience. So, some surgeons feel that hyperbaric oxygen helps speed the recovery process and many would reserve it for the treatment of wounds or poor blood supply. What is important to understand is that hyperbaric oxygen treatment is not a substitute for meticulous surgical technique and post-surgical care, it is an adjunct treatment. Make sure you are working with a Royal College certified Plastic Surgeon with Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship training, they will be most up to date on facelift surgery and on the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Thanks for the question. Breast surgery is fraught with poorly defined and antiquated terms, for example "snoopy breast". I actually wrote a paper on this issue with several colleagues (for your reference the paper is titled "The Nomenclature, Terminology and Lexicon of Breast Surgery: Are We Really Saying the Same Thing?"). The term submuscular is one term which can be misleading, and should only be used to describe when the breast implant is in fact entirely under the confluence of chest wall muscles. Using this definition, there is no release of the lower part of the pectoralis muscle. Dual Plane breast augmentation on the other hand is well defined, and refers to the surgeon dissecting in two areas: beneath/behind the pectoralis major muscle and between the breast gland and the front of the pectoralis muscle. When a surgeon performs a dual plane dissection, they release the lower part of the pectoralis muscle and create a pocket beneath the muscle for the implant. In this case the implant is partially covered by muscle (this is different from a true submuscular dissection). The second plane of dissection that is sometimes included in a dual plane dissection is between the breast gland and the muscle; a surgeon may choose to dissect the gland from the muscle to varying extents in order to achieve more fullness in the lower part of the breast. Sorry to hear that your implants may be sitting higher on your chest. I would recommend that you have a formal consult with a board certified Plastic Surgeon with fellowship training in Aesthetic Surgery.
Hi there, thanks for the question. First, many of the things you have said are true:1) Atrophy/deflation of the soft tissues of the face is one process of facial aging. When this is significant, patients can benefit from procedures which add volume to correct the deficit.2) Another process of facial aging is that facial soft tissues become lax with time and descend along the face, contributing to some of the characteristic features of facial aging such as jowels. When this descent is significant, patients benefit from lifting procedures such as a facelift or if the descent is mild non-surgical options such as radiofrequency devices and thread lifts can be considered. These processes occur together along with other processes such as changes to the consistency of the skin due to solar damage over time. Each patient's face experiences these processes to slightly difference extents, necessitating an approach individualized to each patient. Often procedures can be performed which address more than one of these processes. Depending on your goals and your in-person examination, I would consider a face/necklift combined with facial fat grafting. This would help to address your loss of volume, your jowels, and the bands over your neck. It would also provide a more long-lasting result than non-surgical options. In addition to the above, you may also consider upper blepharoplasty. If you are hoping to avoid surgery, you could attempt non-surgical options such as fillers and radiofrequency devices but results from these treatments would be temporary and would likely incompletely treat your features of aging. I understand you have spoken to a surgeon. As always, I would recommend making sure your consult was with a board-certified plastic surgeon with fellowship training in aesthetic surgery.
