This amazing surgeon has a passion and a skill for performing Otoplasty. I was referred to this dedicated surgeon by Dr. Hubbard, Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute. Upon meeting Dr. Byrd, I was felt very comfortable and was impressed by his knowledge and interest in my ears. I am not easy to impress in consultation. He is an excellent educator about deficiencies/ deformities of the ear and explained everything that would go on during the operation and the first few days after. My ears actually had many more deformities / deficiencies than I thought. I just knew I two asymmetrical ears and that one protruded more than the other. I knew the lobes certainly were not beautiful and that the tops were not perfectly rounded. Dr. Byrd did not even stop there...he showed me what he plan to correct on my entire ear and it was a lot. My right ear was very complicated. It felt great to be a patient, instead of having to ask a million questions and beg for additional things to be enhanced. You do not have to ask many questions during consult with Dr. Byrd because everything will be fully explained in detail. Dr. Byrd is a bit of a perfectionist. His staff are extremely nice, especially Cecilia. Cecilia has responded to everything by phone, text, or email. I developed a slight infection in the stitch area in my right ear (required more work) after I returned home (8 days post-op). I suppose I suspected something was wrong 2 weeks post op. Cecilia and Dr. Byrd were on top of everything (response, instructions, medications) within hours. Dr.Byrd and Cecilia have continued to monitor my progress. My motivation for this procedure was I am tired of hiding my ears with my hair and just desire to wear my hair up. You can not wash your hair because you will be wearing special molds for your hair but don’t worry the OR staff actually made mine look cute and I used dry shampoo and pins / clips if it fell (day 5/6). You can shower with the water proof headband (pink band in photos). You will need to wear it most all of the time but it’s so worth it. I requested a handicap room so I could have a hand held shower. The procedure is a little uncomfortable depending on the amount of work you have done. However the pain is nothing compared to breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, and especially revisions. My left ear did not hurt as much as the right (more extensive work). Overall It feels so nice to have normal ears. I am exceptionally happy with the outcome of my procedure and appreciate the time and energy that Dr. Byrd invested into the consultation, surgery, and after care. I am happy to hear that Dr. Byrd is considering to continue to do Otoplasty and the Ear Well if he decide to retire.
Wonderful procedure. Excellent staff! Highly recommend him. Staff very knowledgeable and patient. Staff was always available and quick to respond to any and all questions. Everyone was very friendly and caring. I felt at ease as soon as I walked in through the doors.
After a traumatic ATV accident at age 17, I lucked into Dr. Byrd. From the beginning, my family and I knew his care was right where I needed to be! Dr. Byrd and his team reconstructed the entire left side of my face and have perfected my appearance over a series of surgeries and procedures. He has fulfilled my wishes of feeling like I am my normal self again, and I'm forever grateful for him and his wonderful staff. They have gone above and beyond for me and made an uneasy situation feel like the red-carpet treatment from start to finish. Dr. Byrd has even met with my parents and I at the clinic after business hours late at night. He truly is my angel, and I would absolutely never trust anyone else for reconstructive or cosmetic procedures! He is the best of the best, and I can't imagine what my life would be like if I hadn't been fortunate enough to meet Dr. Byrd and his staff.
Dr. Byrd is a great surgeon and the result of whatever procedure you are have done will be very natural looking. He and his staff are extremely personable and very professional. They take as much time as you need to explain everything and to make the process go as smoothly as possible. I am very pleased with what I had done.
Dr. Byrd has a incredible artistic genius that he uses when he molds your face and body. Plus he has a God given desire to do the best he possibly can because it pleases him to help others. Dr. Steve Byrd exhibits world class professionalism, incredible compassion, and cutting edge techniques that will make you look better than you ever thought possible.
Dr Byrd did a great job on my face - it looks like me, only better. Friends I've told can't believe I've had surgery, only saying I look natural & great. These are very honest friends, not one's who say what you want to hear. One is an aesthetician and opposed to surgery etc for herself but she was very impressed. I'm still getting used to my breasts - from an A to what seems to be a large C or D. Everyone (especially my husband) that knows about the surgery thinks they look great but it's a shock. I'm happy there were no problems. I'd recommend Dr Byrd to anyone - he's no spring chicken so if you want surgery, do it now before he retires.
I had breast implants done by Dr. Byrd. I was very particular about what I wanted and how I wanted them to look. Being a mother of two and 42 years old, I did not want my breasts to be the first thing people noticed about me. I wanted implants to balance out and compliment my overall body shape. I explained to Dr. Byrd that I wanted very natural looking breasts that fit my body type, showed him photos of breast implants I liked and did not like. He listened to everything I said and knew exactly what I was looking for. I did not have a specific breast size in mind, I felt very confident leaving the decision on the size of my implants to Dr. Byrd. He did a wonderful job giving me exactly what I wanted! I could not be happier, I love the work he did! I have so much more confidence than I have ever had. He and his staff are very professional and I felt very well taken care of. I chose Dr. Byrd based on his years of experience and all of the wonderful reviews from his patients. They are well deserved, I highly recommend Dr. Byrd.
Wife did it first and had a really first-rate experience in all aspects. After I was mugged, got my nose broken with a lead pipe, and spent the night in the emergency room, I decided to give it a try also. Completely restored my face, while also making me look 20 years younger. Best money ever spent Updated on 28 Sep 2014:
I came to Dr. Byrd at 19 for my initial breast augmentation. Had a wonderful experience with him. Was super happy about my results. Since then My body has changed a bit haha. I've gained weight and had a child. I waited 9 years to get them replaced. I wanted to go little bigger since I had gained weight. It's always hard finding a doctor. Choosing Dr.Byrd was a no brainer for me. Again blown away with the results and how great Dr. Byrd and his staff are. Hope this helps anyone out there looking for the best doctor.
I have wanted a full face lift for at least 10 years because I had damaged some of my skin on my face and neck in my 20's. I am physically fit so this completes the picture I think. My gynecologist here in Waco recommended Dr. Byrd as he had researched plastic surgeons around the state as his wife was wanting a some type of plastic surgery. After reading Dr. Byrd's website I made a decision to go for an evaluation. Quickly after the evaluation visit my husband and I decided to go forward with the procedure.
Based on your pictures I will presume that your desired end result would include having the dorsal hump reduced or appear to be reduced. To non-surgically have even this portion of desired changes accomplished with fillers would yield an UN-aesthetic outcome. Your nose (and face) would lose its femininity due to the increased size. A formal rhinoplasty is the best approach for your nose. When prospective patients consider surgery here we take life-sized photos and measurements of the face and nose, mock up the surgery and share this plan and expected outcome (before and after). For example this was you, then you decide if you like the plan or not. You have a lovely face. Please select your plastic surgeon with care. Check out whether they are a member of the Rhinoplasty Society (surgical acumen and numerous peer reviewed techniques and very good/excellent surgical outcomes are required--this is not a Society you can just pay dues and become a member). Good planning on your part to find "the right surgeon" will bring you confidence and an outcome that will be pleasing to you for years to come. Dr. Steve Byrd
You have received some good responses to your question. Surgery will be necessary to get your what you want in regard to your body’s appearance post 4 babies. The procedures you would require are a standard OR umbilical float abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) with some associated liposuction, including liposuction of the flank (love handle area). If there is any muscle separation in the midline, this can be repaired during the procedures. Most times the waist can be narrowed more with flank liposuction in conjunction with tummy tuck than with tummy tuck alone. We tell every patient we see for Abdominoplasty and liposuction something very important. Reaching the desired post op/surgical outcome (ie:"I want my waist back") is a shared responsibility between patient and surgeon. The surgeon may do excellent work, however the diet, exercise and managed weight by the patient is just as important to the overall “success story”. Good luck!Dr. Steve Byrd
You would benefit from an upper and lower eyelid skin only blepharoplasty...possibly adding some CO2 laser treatment in areas of the eyelids that were not undermined ( release of the excess skin for excision). Your brows may be slightly laterally descended (saggy compared to earlier years in your life). First, we would address the upper eyelids by holding the brows where they belong, marking the excess skin, injecting with local (gentle process) and removing the excess skin. This can be done in an office setting with local anesthesia only. Sutures are removed 3-5 days later. Lower eyelids, when they have a "pinchable" excess of greater than or equal to 3 mm, should have skin excision. Further textural tightening can be achieved with laser treatments (the "new skin care"). We recommend HALO (1-2 times/per year) and BBL (3-4 times/year) instead of DOT. I hope this helps. Continue the Botox...a wonderful preventative aging technique!Dr. Steve Byrd
Tuberous breasts present the need for more surgical intervention than what a breast augmentation alone can provide. You are correct to "struggle" with which procedure plan to select. You have some of the classic expressions of tuberous breasts and should proceed with this mind set. Setting yourself up for achievable expectations prior to surgery is a must to achievable satisfaction post-surgery for patients with tuberous breasts...so glad to see you are proceeding in this manner. All that said and since you are looking for the broad range of opinions, rather than re-stating what Dr. Michael Bohley commented let it be sufficient to say that I agree with him. He mentions what should be done and why. This is what I would recommend and how I would proceed if you were my patient. --H. Steve Byrd, M.D.
There are definitely advantages and wisdom to get back into a workout regimen before scheduling a Mommy Makeover. Your strength to move about post operatively using legs and arms while abdomen recovers, will be of great help. Working out increases lung capacity and this improves recovery from anesthesia and also gives you a quicker return to getting your fitness routine back to its proper level post op. Working out increases the fibrous connections between skin and the underlying tissues so that there can be better surgical outcomes for those who are fit as opposed to those who are not fit. You will not achieve losing the excess abdomen tissue however, so surgery is needed for that. I hope this helps in your planning for pre and post op. Dr. Steve Byrd
