Very knowledgeable and helpful with which type of laser treatment I needed for my sensitive, red blotchy skin. I get very anxious during treatments and Dr. Christian is very responsive and understanding. She does wonders with Xeomin placement a well. Very natural looking afterwards.
Had DEEP frown lines and always looked angry. In addition I also had enough horizontal forehead lines that I was beginning to get passive lines even when I wasn't raising my eyebrows and my crow's feet were beginning to curl around and under the outside corner of my eyes. I asked the MD who had done done the laser that removed the brown spots from sun damage and skin rejuvenation for texture to do my Botox. I love it. She said it would feel "heavy" in 3 days and I'd get a full effect in 10 days and to come in after 2 weeks if I wasn't completely satisfied. Well, I'm ecstatic. I look 7-8 years younger, refreshed, and yet, I still have movement without that scary "frozen" look. I found a good one.
A phenol peel, like The Perfect Derma Peel, will definitely brighten your skin, but it won’t get rid of the damaged melanocytes, the cells which are producing the extra pigment causing the solar lentigenes (brown spots) in your skin. To actually get rid of those damaged cells, you need treatment with a device called an IPL (Intense Pulsed lLght). My favorite IPL device is the LimeLight from Cutera because it will treat both the solar lentigenes and diffuse redness which can often be seen with sun damage. Your skin doesn’t need to burn to get even pigment and a lovely glow. Your skin will be pink for a while but then those damaged cells move toward the surface of the skin, get increasingly brown, and then microscopically flake off. Most people with sun damage need several treatments; the number of treatments depends on the severity of the sun damage. It’s very important that you use a zinc-based sunscreen every day, forever, to prevent further sun damage.
