I've seen Dr Kappel twice, once to remove some spots on my back and torso, and again for scholeratherapy behind my knees. Both procedures were virtually pain free and fast! Dr Kappel and her team were professional, organized and friendly. I felt very comfortable in her office and everything was explained very clearly and confidently to me. I highly recommend Dr Kappel!
Typically after laser treatment, the areas treated can appear darker, swollen and red for up to 7-10 days after treatment. Depending on the laser that was used, various post-treatment changes can occur. For most brown spots, a Q-swiched Alexandrite or YAG can be used but often resurfacing with fractionated devices are common as well such as Clear and Brilliant Permea, Fraxel Restore, and Halo. IPL is not a true laser, but rather, broad band light, and can also be used to address brown spots. I would contact your physician to assure that the expected post treatment changes are occurring and that further intervention is not needed.
Lip augmentation should look and feel natural when injected correctly. Various fillers can be used to add volume, improve definition and soften the lips while still looking and feeling natural. Juvederm Ultra can provide definition and fullness while Vobella, Restylane Silk and Belotero can soften the lips and improve lip lines without adding much volume.
Nasolabial folds can be improved by lifting from above or by placing filler directly into the folds themselves. Each patient is different with respect to volume loss, contour and anatomy so it is important to have an evaluation by an experienced injector. I often use Juvederm Voluma along to cheekbones to lift from above and, if needed, Juvederm Ultra Plus into the folds. Sometimes I use Sculptra or Restylane Lyft to address mid face volume loss which can also soften the nasolabial folds. There are many fillers to choose from. Radiesse and Restylane can also be used in the folds. It is useful to go slowly and not do too much at once. Treatments can be spaced out over time to give the most natural results. Each filler is engineered to achieve a certain goal and when combined for a customized treatment, the end results are natural, beautiful and perfectly balanced.
These hollows result from a combination of volume loss and skin laxity. This can be improved with fillers placed gently and precisely in this area to soften the transition. In addition to fillers, lasers used to tighten wrinkled skin will significantly improve the appearance without the need for surgery. Lasers used in combination with fillers under the eyes give significant improvement in this area.
Some physicians may press on the sites of injection to diffuse the botox, however most do not. This may vary with the way the Botox is diluted. Sticking to the recommended dilution of Botox (2.2cc for 100 unit vial), this is not necessary. Your physician may have been applying pressure to prevent bruising. Bruising is more common in the crows feet area where the skin is thinner, however, this can be easily avoided with delicate, superficial and precise placement.
