This might be caused by a regular bruise or unintentional injection in the angular artery; if there is any open sores or scabs it is more in favor of the latter diagnosis ; but fortunately it appears be mild and the chance of scarring is not significant; please call your Dr soon to treat it; this appear to be unfortunate accident and it does not indicate that your Dr was negligent at all .
