Dear sweetp943, The answer to this question is depending on what type of results you are looking for with the SculpSure and how the areas with the first session were treated. If the provider that you are seeing recommended 4 panels on each side of the love handles with your first session, and the provider is recommending another session with the same amount of panels I would likely go with the providers recommendation as that will be more likely allow you to achieve the results you are looking for. Unfortunately without being able to view your before & after photos from your first session would I be able to make any specific recommendations. Dr. Sherry Maragh, MD
Patient EM0705, Yes, the rapid heart rate that you were experiencing could have been secondary to starting the Spironolactone orally, as this a diuretic that suppresses the hormone DHEA & can lower your blood pressure, in result increasing your resting heart rate at times. In our office when treating our patients with Spironolactone we start a majority of patients on the 50mg dose, but some patients do better with starting at a lower dose, such as 25mg daily & if tolerated increase to 50mg daily 2 weeks later as your body adjusts. We try to titrate the dose that helps with the Acne, but produces the least amount of side effects. I would try increasing your water intake and restart at 25mg, only after notifying your provider of your side effects. Very important to report this side effect and any the prescriber and only restarting if they feel it is appropriate after reviewing your side effects and other medications in detail. I hope this helps! Dr. Sherry Maragh, MD.
The medication is out of your bloodstream in 30 days from last dose. Your pregnancy should be fine if you did not get pregnant during this window. Please be sure to address this issue with your Dermatologist. Thank you,
If you are still breaking out on the Accutane you could be under treated, depending on your weight & which brand of Accutane you are on, also if you are male or female. In our office our providers typically use the brand name Absorica as our form of Accutane as it does not require patients to consume a high fat diet to absorb the medication. Also my female patients tend to sometimes still flare around their cycles. In this case I usually consider an oral medication in my treatment called Spironolactone. Please be sure to discuss your concerns with the Dermatologist that placed you on the medication.
