I was so tired of strangers telling me that I always looked tired. I had my upper and lower lids done. Dr. Goldstien was very professional from the first appoinment to the followup after surgery. I am very happy I chose him over the other consultaions with plastic surgeons. My look is natural after surgery and I am very content.
I have been using Dr.Scott for Botox for about 5 years now. We had been discussing an eye lift for a couple years because genetically I knew I would need it. Given the fact that he has worked with my mom and two aunts, he saw that it was a "family" thing. So for my 45th birthday I decided to go for it. One attribute I did like about myself, was my eye color but when I smiled my eyes were lost. All I can say is WOW,! So happy with the results but most of all Dr.G and his entire staff are AMAZING! Beginning to end. The care, expertise and professionalism are what every medical experience should be. I have had several friends go to him since and we all are huge fans!
Bruising and swelling from eyelid surgery is always at its worst for 2-3 days and mostly fades in 2-3 weeks. However, it takes at least 2-3 months to fully heal if not longer. Since the muscle around the eye is a circle, bruising from upper lid surgery always tracks down into the lower lid and cheek. And therefore it is often the last place to finish healing.
Dark circles under the eyes have several causes, including shadowing from puffiness above, pigment in the skin and vascularity below the skin surface. Glycolic peels are safe at both 20 and 30% in trained hands, but typically improve skin texture and won't do much for most dark circles. Better to have someone assess your eyes to see why you have dark circles and treat them appropriately.
Botox toxin works by blocking the signal from motor nerves to the individual muscle fibers where the the injection was given. Since the Muscle fiber doesn't receive a signal, it Won't contract and pull on the skin causing wrinkles. The higher the dose, the weaker the muscle and thus a more profound effect
Botox works by weakening muscles. Since the main function of the forehead muscles is too raise the eyebrow, it is natural that weakening this muscle will cause the brow to sag and make the upper lid look heavy. Botox kicks in over the course of about a week and will last about 3 months. Fortunately the heaviness will fade with time. Often to bring balance, I like to inject above and below the brow to get the optimal contouring and desired result. However if the glabella Nd crows feet have already been injected nothing but time will help. And less botox in the forehead in the future
Eyelid surgery and retinal issues are separate problems that should not have an affect on each other. Especially once the retinal problem has been treated and is healed. This can be explained best by your retinal surgeon or even better, an ophthalmic plastic surgeon, who is trained In both eye care and plastic surgery.
