Either RVLT or Radiofrequency Ablation can be done if any symptoms persist. Generally, spider veins are the tip of the iceberg and symptoms are due to larger varicosities which can only be evaluated by ultrasound and are not visible to the naked eye. In short, symptomatic regurgitant great and small saphenous veins should be ablated as a definitive treatment if conservative management doesn't improve symptoms significantly.

You should definitely contact your doctor and have a follow up examination. Sometimes, blood gets entrapped in the veins - which can be painful. Usually, Ibuprofin and hot compresses will help. 

Your doctor may have used the maximum dose possible. Excessive doses can have some side effects.

Sclerotherapy is an outpatient procedure. There is very little down-time. I encourage my patients to walk, but restrain from rigourous exercise until their follow-up after one week.

A clinical diagnosis of Varicose Veins is  a result of a combination of the  presence of symptoms and an evaluation of veins through ultrasound. Visible varicosities with symptoms should be treated conservatively. If the symptoms continue, then an ablation is reasonable as a definitive treatment. It is not indicated to treat varicosities without symptoms.
