I've been on a long braces journey with the Art Of Braces with no fault other than mine, but it has been a great experience. From my very first consultation everyone from the front desk receptionist to the dental hygenist, and especially Dr. Benson has been extremely nice and patient with me. I started with Invisalign. It was great. They take pictures at your appointments so you can see the progress your teeth are making and I think that's super cool. The only problem with the Invisalign was me. I never wore it. I would wear them constantly for 3 weeks then not wear them for about a month. It was not working due to the inactivity of me not wearing my trays. I finally decided I wanted to take responsibility for my teeth. I went over other options with Dr. Benson and she told me about Inbrace. It's like regular braces but instead of the brackets on the outside of your teeth, they are on the inside. Being that I am a bartender and in my late 20's I loved this option. I would wear my braces full-time without the option of taking them off and nobody would be able to see them. For inbrace, they take a 3d scan of your teeth and create a smart wire that helps move your teeth to where they need to go. Sofia called to schedule my appointment. She is always so cheerful and bright on the phone and in person! When I came in to get the inbrace, I was a bit freaked out and nervous. Sofia calmed me down and told me just to breathe. Amber took me back and started putting on the brackets. She knew I was nervous, so she started cracking jokes and acting like we were old-time friends. Took my nerves right out of me. I enjoyed hanging out with Amber while she put the brackets and the wire on. It's been about a week since I've had it on now and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The pain level is about 3 out of 10. No pain just soreness like every other braces. I'm teaching myself how to re-eat since the brackets are in the side, but I love that I can't take them off. I will be in them for about 15-18 months, but so happy to be doing with Dr Benson, Amber, and Sofia. Thank you so much to all of them! I will update my review at the end of my treatment!
I could not be happier with my treatment. Dr. Benson and staff are amazing. Personable, professional, kind. I’m halfway through my braces and already seeing amazing results. And I just had lip filler and I’m in love! I got the result I was hoping for, just a natural plump! Could not recommend a more professional practice for your teeth and filler needs!
Best doctor in town guarantee. Did a Lingual Braces for my horrible looking teeth’s But I got amazing results and makeover, it’s a life changer. Now I can smile with no shame I will always recommend Dr Benson and will appreciate it forever, Thank you!!
I love love love my teeth. Dr benson has been understanding about my list of needs since the first visit. I am 30 years old, needed my teeth to be perfect but didn’t want traditional braces at my age. Invisalign was not a great option either as I felt regular brackets were more efficient in what I wanted to achieve with my smile. I searched far and wide and found dr benson, one of the only orthodontists who specialized in lingual (behind the teeth braces) that way I could still go about my days without feeling insecure about a mouth full of metal every time I would smile. Every appointment I had something to say or something to point out. She was very patient with me the entire time, never made me feel like an annoyance or a bother and always kindly adjusted anything that even remotely bothered me. She took the time to listen and do whatever it took so I could end up with the smile of my Dreams! Attention to detail would be an understatement. She had a microscope for all of my needs making sure any and all was exactly to my liking. I know I can be difficult which is why I appreciated Dr Benson and her entire kind and professional staff for exceeding all of my expectations. Honestly people did not even know I had braces the entire time. People were shocked when I told them I did. The best part was that my first initial reaction upon walking into the office, I thought that there was no way I could afford this place. She had all state of art equipment, and she was board certified. I thought for sure it was outside of my budget. Couldn’t be more far from the truth. I think I excitedly embraced her when she quoted me the price. I was thrilled that it was within my budget and of course my first pick since she was the only reputable doctor that specialized in lingual. If you don’t know, lingual is extremely hard to encounter. Not many orthodontist practice this method. Thank goodness for Dr benson! Cheers to her amazing staff also! It always felt like family. My treatment is now done and she still promptly meets with me to make sure my teeth are staying in tact and of course to my liking. Thank you Dr Benson.
Dr.Benson is absolutely amazing! I went to a few board certified dermatologists to get Botox for my gummy smile because I didn’t want surgery. However, the dermatologists missed every time! I have a wide gummy smile and it’s not the typical gummy smile so it’s hard to treat. Dr.Benson is the only doctor that has been able to do this correctly for me! I live in California and I fly back every three months just to see her!
Dr. Benson and her staff are very professional and the dental office is very clean and modern. My treatment took 8 months. I had lingual braces (you cannot see them)... it took a few weeks getting used to them after that it was a breeze. My teeth are beautiful and I am so happy I found Dr. Benson!
The brackets and wires would prevent the clip in veneers from sitting flush against your teeth. Even if they were made to fit over your braces, which would be very difficult, it would force the veneers to protrude very far forward because of the braces being in the way. The other problem would be that your teeth are constantly moving with braces so the clip in veneers would start to not fit after your teeth move.
Braces would help you fix the protrusion of your teeth as well as their alignment. From your photos, you can see that the top and bottom teeth are not aligned, but it's actually difficult to see if there is protrusion from this view. Usually, protrusion is viewed from a side photo. However, if you feel that your teeth are protruding, then braces would be the answer.
It should be very easy to move that lateral incisor forward with braces. I'm not sure what your bite looks like and if you care to fix anything else besides this one tooth, but if you are desiring only to move this one tooth forward, it should take about 6 months or less with braces. I would not recommend removable clear aligner treatment such as Invisalign in this case because such treatment works best on teeth with larger surface areas. Your lateral incisor is undersized and the plastic would not have great control on that tooth and the tooth movement would be less predictable.
I would recommend either Invisalign or some type of removable clear aligner therapy. The reason being is that the exact velocity of individual tooth movements per aligner stage can be precisely staged out and controlled when designing your treatment plan on the computer. Yes, braces would definitely align your teeth faster, but in your case, slower and more controlled is more desirable in order to prevent further root resorption on your front teeth. All the teeth are connected by the archwire with traditional braces so it would be impossible to isolate and control individual tooth movements. Removable clear aligner therapy would definitely be the gentlest and safest approach in your case.
The triangular piece of gum tissue that normally fills an area where a black triangle exists is called a papilla. The papilla can shrink and recede in the presence of periodontal disease (bone loss). Once the underlying bony support is no longer there, then the papilla no longer has enough support to occupy the space between the teeth and recedes, leaving behind a black triangle. Teeth that are more tapered in shape with narrower necks tend to be more susceptible to black triangles forming when gums recede. Sometimes, when such shaped teeth are very crowded and overlapped prior to orthodontic treatment, there was never much space for any papillae between the teeth to begin with. Then, when the teeth are aligned and no longer overlapping, black triangles become apparent but it's not because the gums receded, but rather that they were never there to begin with. Usually, orthodontists will slenderize the teeth in a process called interproximal reduction (IPR) in order to make the teeth shape less tapered and then bringing them closer together to reduce the size of the black triangle. Another option is the injection of a hyaluronic acid filler directly into the gum tissue in order to plump up the papilla, but this is not permanent. Other than that, your gums will not ever fill up your black triangles, unfortunately.
