On the 30th August I had my silicone round implants exchanged for anatomical polyurethane coated implants, pretty much the same cc. I am a skinny woman, always have been and don’t expect that to change any time soon! My silicone implants had deep, wave like ripples and were only 6 years old (BUT I breastfed 2 beautiful girls in that time) the ripples were visible even through some types of clothing. At the slightest arm movement (with them being under the muscle) they jumped into my armpits! My Surgeon was Sam Norton based in Norwich, UK. From the moment I met him I felt comfortable and at ease with him! I walked out of my 1st consultation and thought ‘he really cares’ A few weeks later, I had my second consultation and he explained what he was going to do for me in Surgery. He didn’t go into a huge amount of detail and looking back that was the best way to go for me as I would have had an information overload. And again I walked out thinking ‘yep I’ve got a good one there’ On the day of my surgery, Mr Norton came to see me and briefly explained the procedure, marked my breasts up ready for surgery. I had a little problem being able to provide a urine sample (starved myself since the night before) and held the whole surgery up. Mr Norton kindly came back to see me and put my mind at ease and offered to put me on a drip to hydrate me and enable me to provide a urine sample. And it worked! So after an hours delay it all started. When I woke up in recovery the Spire hospital (Norwich) staff called my husband and informed him that I was out and well) I don’t remember anything else about recovery. Back in my private room I had a look at my improved assets and I was overcome with disappointment. My head filled with ‘oh no’ ‘what have I done’ When Mr Norton came to see me a couple of hours later I had 101 questions ‘They seem really far apart’ ‘will they always have this gap’ ‘are you happy with them’ My disappointment, overshadowed everything for me that day and the next. I cannot stress enough that Sam Norton has one of the kindest natures I’ve encountered so I didn’t want to slam him for his work especially only a few hours later- that wouldn’t have been fair. Anyway, I went home the following day and cried, even with my husband telling me how great they look, my mum said ‘they look amazing, 100% improvement!’ I just couldn’t see it myself. Couldn’t see the beautiful smooth breast, no deep waves, no odd shape! They felt strange to me so I called the hospital on night 4 and within minutes Mr Norton himself had called me and invited me to see him the next day. During this appointment, he checked my concerns and explained what changes I can expect to see over the next 6-8 weeks. And then it hit me... I have been having some ideas in my head of what to expect through other people’s experiences and ‘before and after’ photos and the advice I would give to anyone thinking about any breast augmentation/revision is ‘don’t expect to have other people’s results’ and ‘don’t judge your results immediately after surgery!!’ Find yourself a surgeon that from the minute you meet him/her fills you with confidence.Today, I’ve looked at my breast and you know what, from what I’m seeing and from what Sam Norton has explained for me to realistically expect, I couldn’t be happier! And in fact Mr Norton’s handy work is ticking all the boxes, I don’t have any ripples, my breast look the most natural they’ve ever done since having the 1st surgery. I suit the size, they compliment my tiny frame. All this and I’m still in the early stages of recovery (less than a week) And my goodness I feel so good! I have picked a fantastic, caring and honest surgeon! I was taken care of by brilliant staff at the Spire Hospital (Norwich) I am so thankful to everyone involved! My journey so far from consultation, to surgery to aftercare has been second to none! As the weeks go, I will be updating this review and if things continue the way they are and I’m confident they will, I will be singing this mans praises until the very end!
