This is a common problem in Dentistry basically the patient word against Dentist word, however in my opinion Dentists should always take a picture of temp before they process it to final if he didn't do so he should listen to you, also wax is very thin material the crowns are thick so probably the fit of the the two material is different , I would have a conversation with him this is your best bet.
