First question to ask is are they using the actual laser wavelength such as Yag, Alex, Diode? or using the IPL(intense pulse light) for hair reduction? Laser works a lot better than IPL and you need less treatments. Many offices buy an IPL machine for a lot cheaper and advertise it for hair reduction. IPL can do hair reduction but you need probably 8-10 treatments versus 4-5 of laser for the same results. Second question is when you say it doesnot work after how many treatments? you should get about 30% reduction with each treatments. So usually 4 treatments should be giving you about 90% reduction then you do a maintenance in 6 months and then yearly. Otherwise the hair will grow back. Also its important to get your treatments every 4-6 weeks apart when the hair follicles are in the growth phase if you do it later or earlier then you wont catch the hair during this phase which is the phase laser destroy the follicles. Third question could you have hormone imbalance with too much Testosterone for example a condition called PCOS? in that case laser does work but because of high level of Testosterone you don't see any reductions due to over growth of hair follicles. And lastly they might adjust the setting they are using and try a higher setting in your future treatments. I hope this helps. Dr Motamedy
