I personally imject each Masseter Muscle multiple places, Botox does spread about one centimeter or half an inch, but the Masseter is bigger than that.  Maybe your muscles are not that pronounced and the physician though one injection was enough.   I personally think, you might have benefited more  from multiple injections.
