I can only say that my experience with Dr. Ron Gilmer and his staff was and has been outstanding. After my initial consult, I was certain that I wanted Dr. Gilmer to perform this "life changing" procedure. His nurses are so kind, understanding, and approachable. The receptionist (bless her heart) has her hands full too. But she is apart of the team. Nauni (sp) one of the RN's is fabulous. She knows her stuff. And my personal favorite is Caira (RN), she was very responsive and always addressed any concerns that I had. Dr. Gilmer is a great Plastic Surgeon. He gets straight to the point, no "sugar coating", he just tells it like it is. And I appreciated that. Had he not been so upfront, frank, and serious about what it is that I was trying to accomplish, I would have only had lipo and been dissatisfied. He explained that would not produce the outcome that I desired. So today I am 3-weeks Post Op, Dr Gilmer gave me the "all clear", and I feel great. My self-esteem is growing, I look forward to looking at the changes in my body each day. And if pain is your concern, believe me its not as painful as many have claimed. FAR less painfull than childbirth. If I decide to have another procedure, Dr. Ron Gilmer and his practice will be my #1 choice, bar none. You will not regret it. This was an experience that I will never forget and it was not a bad experience. I love everyone at Dr. Gilman's office. You will too.

I have been reading blogs on Real Self for two months and have finally decided to talk about my experience. I am 39 years old and after much consideration decided to go under the knife on 12/06/10 to lift my boobs, get rid of my muffin top and fat girdle.(All result of childbirth, of course 3>) Prior to surgery I was about 30 lbs from my ideal weight but my doctor said that was "ok" and he could still achieve good results. At the time I was exercising pretty regularly (1-3x week power walking, zumba, treadmill)but not on a daily basis. My eating habits are not too bad but I am married to a chef so sometimes I do overeat. But anyways...after surgery for 5 days I felt like I got hit by a Mac truck lol I took percocet on the clock and got through it but I did have an adverse reaction to the meds which was not pleasant. :( Five days post op the dr removed the girdle/dressing and stood me up in front of the mirror and WOW I had a waistline again:) It was amazing! i continued to wear the girdle 24hrs for 2 more weeks/ then 2 weeks only during the day. The zippers on the girdle were so uncomfortable but my back hurt when I didn't wear it. I went back to work 10 days post op BIG MISTAKE! I was so uncomfortable...boobs hurt, pulling sensation in stomach, swelling and tightness...plus I developed ulcers under my boobs which took 6 weeks to heal! I really overdid it! up until last week I would work from 9 to 5, come home, eat dinner, and crash by 8 pm. I tried one time to exercise @ 4 weeks post op and nearly hypervenilated. Just last week (7 weeks post op) I was able to exercise without discomfort. I also enrolled in a bellydancing class and LOVE it! 3> My tummy is still very swollen though and it is depressing not being able to wear my old pants (Thank God stretch pants are back in style!) But...when I look in the mirror I look smaller because my waist is more defined. (Ironic, huh?) My boobs are very natural looking and not much bigger...just a little more lifted and rounder. I am the same bra size, even with implants (38 D) which was what I wanted. :) My doc said to be patient and that the swelling in my tummy will go down eventually....so it's hurry up and wait :P I just want to be able to wear a bikini this summer...haven't worn one since 1992....
Wanted a little help for these two problem areas. 4 sessions over 4 weeks. Procedure was fine, a little too hot at times. I expected faster and better results. She measured me each time but the measurements were all over the place. I could tell some diminishment in the areas but not worth $3k for sure. Technician was nice but had a hard time getting the machine set. She also did not come back right away so I had to wait for her to come, readjust and begin the next sessions. Probably took an extra 30 minutes each time. Other staff member told me she would never get the treatment done because it was too much money and she could just go to the gym!
I had breast augmentation with Dr. Gilmer 9 years ago. I requested a C cup, but ended up being a double DD, sometimes triple D (depending on the bra manufacturer). When I commented on this at one of my follow ups I was told by the doctor “you’re a big girl, you can handle them”, but no apology. They also look really bad. One has the “snoopy dog” kind of deformity and migrates to my armpit with many activities. I brought this up in a follow up approximately 4 mos post op and was told I was warned my pre-surgery breasts were messed up and that’s how my augmented breasts would come out. Untrue. My pre surgery breasts were small, but looked good. It was a bad experience and due to life, lack of finances, etc I’ve been stuck with these for years. I’m sure some people have had great experiences with Dr. Gilmer, but I did not. He seems to want to give everyone giant Anna Nicole boobs and not what you ask for.
I got an augmentation in 2004 at his office. I was 98 pounds and asked to just fill in. I literally got sized a triple d after the procedure. I couldn’t even breast feed due to placement. Total regret
