My journey to renewing my beauty, now at age 44 began with the realization that I did not want to use temporary facial fillers as an answer to my signs of aging. I wanted to find a natural procedure with permanent qualities. Primarily what I wanted to correct was the loss of overall facial volume as seen in these ‘before’ photos taken prior to my FAMI procedure, which was done in December 2020. I had seen my face become more and more hollow under the eyes and cheeks, with deepening laughing lines and a more bonier forehead. Upon realizing that no amount of foundation and make up could cover this, and seeing that this really began to bother how I felt about myself, I knew I needed to find a solution in my fight against these signs of aging.
In my research I discovered the FAMI (facial autologous muscular injection) procedure: an anatomically targeted deep multiplane autologous grafting technique using adipose stem cell injection. Lots of big words here, especially for people like me who have no background on medical terminology. But after I looked it up, it’s quite simple once you break it down. In the simplest terms I know how to say it; it’s an organic process of your own adult stem cells actively working in you to renew and rebuild at the deepest cellular levels, which includes bones, facial fat tissues and muscles.
Upon learning that FAMI was actually pioneered by Dr. Roger Amar himself, and that other doctors throughout the years and from around the world have been trained by him on this, I knew that I wanted his renowned expertise on the technique and proven depth of knowledge on facial anatomy to help me regain a more youthful appearance. I loved that he carefully studied my natural facial structure through pictures from my twenties, using it as a template to what my own natural true self looked like then and what he should aim for now while also taking into account my current state.
The procedure has given me the combination of a natural yet highly scientifically forward thinking process, which was exactly what I was looking for. FAMI has given my face a continual day-by-day rejuvenation which is visible now months later and with certainty on a future ongoing basis as well. This is simply because as I had already mentioned earlier, it is an organic process of adult stem cells actively working to renew and rebuild at the deepest cellular levels. If I had to summarize the changes I have experienced and continue to experience to this day, it’s like your face is being born again, because FAMI resets your entire system. So, instead of cringing to look at myself in the mirror each morning like I did before, now I take great pleasure and excitement to see the ongoing big changes happening deep down which manifest on the surface. Needless to say I feel amazing(!) and so good about myself. Regaining this sense of wellbeing through a restored self-image is a gift I’m glad I gave myself.
So all that to say, I am deeply grateful to Dr. Amar and his wonderful London and Marbella staff who have been a godsend to me in my quest to renewing beauty and rediscovering a better self image. This not only include FAMI, but Dr. Amar just redid (April 2021) my past breast augmentation that was done by another doctor which had major asymmetrical issues. As with FAMI, I trusted him to discern the corrections needed, to know me in detail anatomically and utilize his decades of knowledge and expertise in aesthetic procedures, which also include breast augmentation. I am very happy with the care and detail paid to not only selecting the right size implant that best fit my body, but also to taking care of the incision and its closure with much precision so as to minimize scarring.
In the past I chose doctors based on criterias that were confined to my narrow ideas of what I thought was important at that time such as cost or even how well-spoken the doctor was. I didn’t take a deep enough dive into truly understanding the most important things about selecting a Doctor or the type of procedure best suited for me. This time around, taking the time to research and learn about aspects of aesthetics such as the importance of a Doctor’s depth of knowledge of facial anatomy or how adult stem cells can work wonders in your body gave me the right information upon which to make my decision.
The simple fact is, not all doctors are at the same level in their knowledge, expertise and certainly not in their motivation and care for you. What initially convinced me to choose Dr. Amar was his decades of experience in helping both men and women find anti-aging solutions and the fact he was the one who developed FAMI. How I know I made the right choice, was not only because of the amazing results of my FAMI and breast augmentation procedure, but in getting to know Dr. Amar I discovered a kind soul that deeply cares about people. As he put it, regarding what he rejoices about in his work is seeing a patient: “regain that sparkle in their eyes”. To know that he truly understood what it meant for me to attain a renewed sense of beauty through these procedures, was genuine care and compassion I didn’t expect, but I am blessed to have. So it is with deep appreciation of his skill and his heart that I recommend Dr. Amar.
A final point about the FAMI procedure: It is important to understand that the FAMI process is not like the quick fix of getting facial fillers, but rather a process that has different stages of changes taking place over a period of time. My first three months for example entailed the biggest transformations from the normal initial swelling to the settling of the stem cells, which recreate your facial contours. I would emphasize to you, it is your responsibility to understand this so you can have realistic expectations about recovery time and about the fact that your face will go through a gradual transformation. The 6-month period is when the results are considered permanent because that's when all the regenerative activity has settled down and your face is now in its new norm.

I had a blepharoplasty performed 5 years ago by a surgeon whom I did not believe had my best interest at heart. I was much too young to have such a procedure done as there were many other ways to correct the slight bags that I had under my eyes. I thought I would do the procedure early rather than later because I thought that with youth on my side, I could recover faster. 

The ultimate result left me so hollowed around the eyes that it took what seemed to be like 7 years off of my face. The shape of my eyes also changed and I now had a dark circle problem, something I never had to deal with before. People would tell me all the time that I looked different. This left me very depressed and for many years I pondered over old photographs of myself and yearned for my "old face".

I never stopped searching for a solution and one day after doing much research for fat grafting, I stumbled onto Dr. Amars website. I read about his FAMI technique and learned that he was not doing the traditional fat grafting that all the other surgeons in America perform. Rather, he was using the advanced technique of stem cell placement.

Over much decision making, I decided to give the procedure a try. The result was incredible. To this day I cry when I think of how my prayers were answered. I can honestly say that Dr. Amar gave me my old face back. My mother was the first to compliment my face, she said it was like seeing the old me again.

Being from an industry where image is highly valued and having dabbled in more than a few plastic surgery procedures over the years, I can confidently say that Dr. Amar is a surgeon that I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to turn back the clock with a natural result. Last year I attended the Amar Clinic in Marbella for a stemcell procedure, having seen Dr Amar prior to that here in London. To say I was apprehensive was an understatement, but I can report that the whole experience was great.
Dr Amar is a charming man who instantly puts one at ease, he is also extremely talented. The Clinic in Marbella was lovely the bedroom made to resemble ones own bedroom, all cosy, which all helps to make one feel cossetted. I was in Marbella for a week and attended the clinic several times so Dr Amar could check up on my progress, the aftercare was very thorough and thoughtfully carried out, I will be going back later this year for another procedure. Thank you Dr Amar.

My procedure took 3 hours. During which time I was sedated to the point where I was still aware, It was painless and I was allowed home after a few hours. The incisions were. a u shape in front of my ears to behind the ear lobes.
Dr Amar spoke with me every day for the first two weeks. The day after the procedure I had a very painful right side by my ear. I went back to see him but it was nothing, dressings were replaced and I was given a prescription for antibiotics. The following Friday Dr.Amar rang and I went to see him and he removed the dressings. On the Monday following the front stitches were removed by a nurse. This was relatively painless. On the Friday the remaining stitches behind my ears were removed. This was quite painful.
I must admit to feeling really poorly for probably 3 weeks after the procedure. Although I was still able to carry out my daily tasks. The scars have healed and are almost invisible now. I have a small nodule behind each ear where the skin was removed.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr Amar the care he gave me was exceptional. I advise anyone considering the procedure to see him first.

I had this treatment in July. I felt I looked not so much older but glum, that loss of plumpness in my face made me look a bit worn and tired.
I met Dr Amar who was clear that he could help and described the process. I had already researched far transfer and knew it can get good results. I wanted to know about downtime, and I wanted to be sure I would look better but not too different.
I was reassured. I asked to see photos of people 2-3 days post op and was shown them. I knew I would be a particular bruiser so I asked to see the worst - and what I was shown proved accurate.
My down time was 3-4 weeks. After two I could go out with specs and bare minerals powder on, but I still looked as if I had the remains of two black eyes. I am about the palest and most bruising person you could meet so suspect this is the extreme.
It gradually became clear, after 3-4 weeks, that i looked better. Now, 3 months on, I am very happy with the results. I look the same but younger and happier. Photographs of me no longer look miserable or as if I don't eat enough. I have stopped wearing make-up and heavy spec frames and now prefer my frameless specs - I now realise I was using the frames to disguise the rather skeletal eyes (!).
Of the procedure itself I remember nothing. I was very scared - shaking. They were very kind to me. I am medical and know about anaesthetics -and the one they were using is painful for 5% of people. I already knew i am one of those 5% so I was scared about that too - but the anaesthetist was slow and careful and it was uncomfortable, not painful - then I remember nothing till I came round an hour or so later. Apparently I chatted about Brexit.
I would say the procedure was more major than I expected, I was as swollen as I thought my worst case scenario would be. I work from home so I saw nobody for two weeks and then wore sunglasses for another two. After 8 weeks I went to a family wedding and nobody noticed. On the photos I look better than for many years.
I am told the appearance will continue to improve and be long lasting. Even if it doesn't improve further, and even if in ten years I look ten years older than now, it will have been worth it. i don't intend to have any other procedures. I think botox is better avoided as eventually your muscles will sag. I think plastic surgery can stretch your skin but it will sag again. This procedure makes sense to me. I would say the same of other fat transfer procedures, but having read the claims for this one, and the limited academic publications about it, I was convinced that the likelihood of it being more long lasting was worth the price (which was only 15pc more than a quote for 'standard' facial fat transfer that did not claim to be long-lasting).

fantastic work... been doing some fami in my chin damaged previously by another surgeon during small lipo...Roger did fix the problem using Fami in the most natural way possible...bit of swelling after for 4 days but now already perfect result...waiting for the cells fully to react but already more than happy...if you re looking to get for some procedure will be undectable to get back in time without cutting your face and long lasting results in an amazing natural way...You have the best surgeon here in my opinion!

FAMI- Fantastic results for my face, 4 months later, and it will continue to improve. My face looks younger and more natural. Dr. Amar also corrected some problems from previous surgeries. Dr. Amar is profoundly skilled and caring.

I cannot begin to tell you how great it feels when I tell people my age and seeing their slightly confused face, then comes the compliments :) And the best thing is that nobody can claim that I must've had dozens of plastic surgery.

Amazing natural results... I look at least 20 years younger but completely natural , my face contours are absolutely perfect. People can't tell what i have done as it doesn't have the disadvantages of a lifting . Also it is not like fat transfer or cells fat transfer injections.No risks of irregularities and very long lasting. It is the state of the art rejuvenation,Doctor Roger AMAR is an absolute Master.you can feel he i an expert not for FAMI only but cosmetic surgery in general.

I needed to repair bad works done previous work done on my lower face by previous surgeon. Especially chin neck lower face...Doctor Roger AMAR has completely redesigned the shape of my face with his FAMI procedure.On top of being natural and non invasive the results are far beyond my expectations. I don t need any traditional lifting after that.This is even better like me 30 years ago. I took a cab just after the op feeling fine.
