I Had an Amazing Experience.

Dr. Garza is very professional and attentive to all of my needs. His staff is very courteous and helpful. My procedure was quickly scheduled and went smoothly without problems. I was very fortunate to have him as my doctor. I would highly recommend him to my friends and family.

Happy with results still healing after 4 months

I'd thought about having a breast reduction many times over the years, but the past 2 - 4 years of having major neck, back, and shoulder pain, along with terrible chafing to the point of blisters between my breast, really convinced me to do. I turned 60 three weeks after my surgery. I was a 36I before and I think I'll be around a 36C, a small C. I am very happy about having smaller breasts and my pain is literally 95% gone and has been since the day of the surgery - that part is a total win! The pain was more than I thought it was going to be and the incisions were also larger than I expected. They go from under each arm (almost around to my back), under the breast and up into the cleavage, then a vertical incision from the nipple down and then also all the way around each nipple. The procedure also included lipo in the underarm area and below the breast, to smooth out the transition. I think the lipo pain was the worst. My left breast was larger than the right before and unfortunately it was still larger after the surgery. I also got several areas of thick ropey scars - the worst of which was in the cleavage area on the right breast. It was so thick and large that it was rolling over and causing chafing by about a month after the first surgery. I also developed a couple of areas that just didn't want to heal completely. So after 2 months I talked to Dr. Garza about revision surgery. He said he could do it December. So just under 4 months after my first surgery I went back in and had the revision done on December 27th. I hate to say it but the revision surgery was more painful that the first one. As soon as I woke up in the recovery room, I was in more pain. It did get past the pain quicker than the first time. It was less than a week when I was able to raise my arms, pull a shirt on over my head, etc. It has now (as of tomorrow) been 5 weeks since the revision surgery. Dr. Garza told me to that the surgical tape would fall off on its own, or if it did not after a month, I should remove it. So, last Saturday (a month and a day after surgery), I pulled it off. I did it very slowly, but it still hurt like crazy and it cause a few areas to open up, bleed, leak fluid. One area is still leaking enough fluid that I have to keep a gauze pad in my bra and for the first few days, it leaked through the gauze pad and into my bra. It also makes the gauze pad stick and no matter how careful I am, the incision pulls apart again every time I change the gauze. I called Dr. Garza and texted some photos; the nurse called me back and said that he was not worried about it at all. If I don't have a fever and the discharge is not thick or smelly, I don't have to worry about it. I told them I was concerned that the opening is ragged and it won't heal into a smooth line. Their answer was that if it didn't heal right that they could fix it very easily in the office. I'm not 100% satisfied with that answer, I would rather it be fixed now and heal correctly rather than have to be cut into again. Has anyone else had issues like this and could comment? Thanks!

“Perfection” just isn’t possible, and I’m ok with that

This revision surgery was done 11 months after the initial breast reduction to correct symmetry & some scarring. I’m only 4 days post-op, but I can tell already that they’re still uneven. I don’t regret doing the revision, because a lift was done as well. “Perfection” just isn’t possible, and I’m ok with that.

He Was Great

I was very pleased with his warmth and humor. It helped me not to feel so anxious. I am having breast reconstruction due to double mastectomy due to cancer. He presented the options very clearly and intelligently.

Yes. So Far Very Happy.

So far amazing. The shape of my breasts is perfect... better than I could have imagined! My only complaint is that my nipples are uneven, and it’s looking like they’ll stay that way. My breasts were uneven before surgery so I’m not really sure it could have been fixed. I just removed my steri-strips and the incision lines look rough in a couple spots, but I’m hoping they smooth out over time with treatment. To be honest I’m not really sure how they compare to others, and that’s partly why I joined this site :) I’m almost one month post op.

34 Year Old, Mom of 3 - Nashville, TN

I had always wanted to do this, but was afraid insurance wouldn't pay, but they are covering it! I was a dd/ddd and he removed over 500 grams. I'm not sure what size I'll be yet, but I asked for a b-c. Doctor Garza was amazing! His office was inviting. There is some pain, but mostly when I have to move my body around. I was very impressed with them today (just got them yesterday)! Updated on 11 May 2016: I'm feeling almost perfect. It was a hard recovery the first week, but has gotten better and better every day.
