After years of thinking about and saving for a facelift, I finally decided I would do it! I've always had a genetic double chin and as I aged of course it got worse as it does on everyone, even when ageing gracefully! I was very self conscience about it and wanted to do something for myself. I also am a natural red head with freckles, so I had a lot of skin issues in addition to sagging. I searched online for the best doctors for facelifts and skin improvement in the area and found H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery. While we are very lucky in Charlotte NC to have many good plastic surgeons, I decided to go with H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery because of their stellar reputation, and their Web, Facebook and Instagram pages were full of reviews and patient results for me to see for myself. First I met with Dr. Bharti and then Dr. Kao for a consult, so I could get at least two opinions. While they are both great doctors, I decided to go with Dr. Richard Kao because he specializes exclusively in Face, Neck, Eyes and Rhinoplasty. Specifically he recommended that I have a Facelift Lower SMAS and Neck Platysmaplasty, Fat Grafting Micro and CO2 Fractional Laser. When I first met him I immediately felt a connection to him. His calm demeanor, kindness and humor calmed my considerable fears, and made me feel I was completely safe in his hands. He also made me laugh at myself (I was so scared), and assured me I was in good hands with him. He is not only an amazing surgeon, he is an amazing human being. The staff feels the same way about him, so I was sure that I made the right decision in choosing him as my surgeon! During the process and after he has been most attentive to my concerns and made recommendations to continue to improve my appearance before and after the surgery. I've also had the CO2 Laser several times on my face, neck, décolleté, and hands, most recently on January 4, 2025. The results are nothing short of amazing and I'm still in the healing stages of the procedures. I am excited to see the final results as it can take up to 6 months for full results. My facelift surgery was November 4, 2024. My friends and family have been amazed at how natural looking the transformation has been. I will post pictures at some point but am not quite ready for that yet. If you choose Dr. Kao as your surgeon I can assure you will never regret that decision!
Cannot say enough good things about Dr Kao. He is detailed and thorough and a master at facial plastic surgery. My results were better than I could have even imagined and my downtime was very manageable. Dr Kao and his whole team of nurses are kind and patient and make you feel so comfortable and safe throughout the whole process. Dr Kao has a calm, quiet, and very professional demeanor. He is a very good listener and will give you exactly what you want. I am 61 and wanted a very natural lower face lift. He suggested a nano fat transfer also and explained why he liked that. I was nervous about the fat making me look too puffy but he assured me it would be natural and would soften the lines ever so slightly. His office is beautiful, organized and super clean. His staff is there to answer any questions and provide experienced support. He gave me a truly natural look and I look just like I used to! I couldn't be happier!!! He is the best of the best.
Dr. Kao was very professional and his surgical skills are very impressive. His attention to detail and compassion for his work and patients puts you at ease at the very first meeting. I am 63 years old, and Dr. Kao did a lower facelift along with laser resurfacing and an upper blepharoplasty. I cannot express how pleased I was with the result. His work exceeded ALL of my expectations! That was last summer. I just returned (7 months later) for a follow-up laser treatment on my face and neck. I was so very happy with my result (again!). I had two surgeries with Dr Kao…the first was a ptosis repair with upper blepharoplasty to correct a drooping in my eyelid and help balance my facial symmetry. I had met with other surgeons (in other practices) before I found Dr Kao. Other doctors minimized how much the issue bothered me (as it was seen as very slight) and quickly dismissed me and my concerns as not valid/significant. Dr Kao listened to me, made me feel very seen, and discussed options and expectations with me. He is so very patient and didn’t rush through or brush off how I felt. My second surgery was an upper blepharoplasty on the other eye, again, to help balance my facial symmetry so both eyes look even. Surgery itself was so much easier than I thought it would be and recovery was extremely smooth. Dr Kao has such a calming demeanor and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. In the landscape of medical care nowadays, the level of professionalism and personal care he delivers is just unmatched. I am thrilled with my results and would not ever trust anyone else with something as important as my face!
