Dr. Richard Burkett initially was supposed to just be my second opinion physician. But after meeting with him and seeing how caring he was and how he genuinely wanted to help reach my goals, I knew he was my surgeon. After having 2 kids (via C-section) and losing 75 lbs I had a lot of extra skin and looseness in my tummy and breasts. For reference I am 31 yrs old, 5’11” & 225lbs at time of surgery. We developed a plan to do full 360 lipo, tummy tuck, breast augmentation (Mentor High Profile 550ccs), along with some inner and outer thigh lipo. Cost was just under $20k. I do wish they had the option to finance with Care Credit with 0% interest for longer than a 6 month period, but I understand the fees they have to pay for that are really high. I am a very type A type person so trust me when I say that I put Dr. Burkett and his amazing staff (Malacha, Christina, etc.) through the ringer when it comes to asking questions and seeking reassurance that doing all of these procedures at one time would still result in a great result. They were so caring and reassuring with all of my concerns. North Texas Surgery Center was okay. Some staff were great and others not so much. Surgery was 6 hours long. The first couple days were pretty rough, a little worse than the c-sections because of the leg liposuction. I will say that the leg lipo suction was the worst part of the recovery and took the longest to heal. I LOVE my results. The scar is very thin and took out the c-section scar and aligns with the curves of my hips and is well hidden under all my undies and swim suit bottoms. My breast are the perfect size for my height and now 3 months post op I am measuring a 38DD sometimes DDD (I was a 38saggy B before surgery). Since I was on the verge of needing a lift they are not extremely perky, and actually look very natural and full. I am okay with this as I will likely get a lift and downsize after 10 yrs or so. My plan is to lose my remaining 40 lbs and then go back to Dr. Burkett for a thigh lift since that is the next area with lots of loose skin. All this to say if you are in the south DFW area looking for a caring plastic surgeon, give Dr. Burkett a call and at least meet him for a consultation. His website may be a little dated and he may be older than most of the other options in the area, but he has the experience and knowledge to know what will and won’t work with your body type. On top of all that he truly cares about you. I am so thankful that I went with my gut and chose him.As an incentive for posting a review, this reviewer received an entry into RealSelf’s monthly $500 gift card giveaway.
A facial twitch is not a normal side effect of facial fillers. I would recommend that you contact the physician who treated you and see if they may be able to help.
