Both of these conditions have yet to be evaluated by a good scientific study using coconut oil (whose lauric acid is felt to be an anti inflammatory). Certainly there is no harm in trying its use topically as a moisturizer as it penetrates quite well. It will not likely,however, either stop or reverse the course of the conditions. Oral use is less likely to help.
