For my first ever cosmetic procedure, i am more than happy with how smoothly it went and love the results. It was nerve wrecking at first because I thought plastic surgeons were supposed to confirm that you need to be “fixed” and point everything that’s wrong with you. The thought of going under anesthesia gave me more anxiety than the actual surgery! I was treated with such care and he made me feel good about myself and I just needed a minor tweak. The staff is so nice and friendly and they answer any questions you may have for aftercare. This was the best decision ever and i love the results! Updated on 18 Aug 2021: The following is my chin implant result one year later. It took at least 6 months for the swelling to fully go away and see the final results. I absolutely love the outcome. Additionally, I have braces, which contribute to the appearance of my face and jawline. It was not the best decision to get the implant during my braces treatment but I don't regret it.
4/1/2019 I had 2 procedures with Dr. D'Amico and could not be happier. Dr. D'Amico is an outstanding cosmetic surgeon and has a wonderful bedside manner. During his consultation he explains in great detail what your procedure will entail, how to prepare, what to expect before, during and after your procedure. He stresses how post op care is key and if followed to the letter results are excellent. I found that Dr. D'Amico is very accessible post op if you have any questions or concerns and is always willing to see you on a moment's notice. Dr. D'Amico's staff is also very professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to deal with. Anna, Marie, and Yiu were very helpful throughout the process. I am in the healthcare field and would highly recommend Dr. D'Amico for anyone considering having any type of cosmetic surgery. I cannot express enough how happy I am with my results. Updated on 27 Oct 2019: I just wanted to upload a more recent picture. I get so many compliments on how great my eyes look. Most people think I've just had a very restful vacation. My eyes look so natural and I feel that I look younger without looking like I had any surgery.....totally natural with a fresher appearance. I can also see better!
I am a 64 year old woman. Still working and still active. My neck was my worst enemy. Creams, electric pulsating devices etc. all were not going to do anything. So I decided to make myself look how I felt. A friend had had a procedure done by Dr. D'Amico and she looked great (after 8 years). First visit was informative and what I wanted to rejuvenate was discussed and a plan was made. I followed all pre surgery instructions, and when the day came was ready to go. Night after the surgery was the toughest, I could not get comfortable and sleep. So just waited till morning. The nurse was great trying to make me as comfortable as possible. I had a friend and my daughter to help me once I got home, and again I followed all instructions. First check back all looked good and then back to home. I was much more comfortable and really as instructed did nothing but talk with my daughter. My friends and boy friend could not believe how my neck , eyes and jawline looked, and said it was amazing! Myself, I could not believe I had a regular neck and no jowls. I just went back for 6 week check and did before and after side by side. AMAZING. I look like I did 15 years ago. Dr. D'Amico did a fantastic job of finding my younger face. Recovery has been continuous each day or so everything gets better and better. His staff is great, they answer any questions or find the answer for you. I am grateful for the skills and meticulous approach Dr. D'Amico had with me. The results speak for themselves . Extremely happy.
The best plastic surgeon and staff there is. Dr. D'Amico has incredible skill, puts the patient at ease & is someone you can truly trust. He listens and gives the patient exactly what they are looking for and the best possible outcome. The rest of the staff is just as wonderful, Marie knows the business inside and out and assists with any needs I may have, she is attentive and reliable and a pleasure to work with. Heather greets you with a smile and makes you feel warm and welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Dr. D'Amico runs an A+++ business and his surgical skill is the absolute best. He has performed numerous perfect surgeries on myself, my sisters, my mother & friends I recommended to him. I cannot recommend him enough and thank him for his one of a kind remarkable results.
I went into the Breast Reduction very curious about the process itself. I came with a lot of questions and felt that with each preliminary visit, everyone in the office spent the time to sit and talk through each question. Because I am only 21 years old, the idea of plastic surgery was a bit uncomfortable and so having the time to ask each question was very important. They were extremely caring and confident which made my decision to go through with the Breast Reduction very easy.
My experience was great! The first time I meant Dr. D'Amico and his staff I knew he was the doctor for me. I was born with Congenital symastia (uniboob) Dr.D'Amico assured me that he could help me and he did. My breast are now apart and I have a beautiful breast lift without implants. I loved that I had the procedure done in his own wonderful surgical office which is a plus because I didn't have to go to the hospital it was more personal and one on one. I can go on and on about my experience but if your looking for a doctor with years of experience in the business this is the place to go! You will thank me later!
i had neck as well as eye surgery with amazing results . People tell me i look 10 yrs younger . Dr D'Amico truly a perfectionist and his work shows this . He is attentive to what you are looking to achieve with his expert opinion to help get there. i could not be happier !!
It's difficult to imagine a doctor more skilled, meticulous and engaged. The man is a true artist. And his staff is just what you'd expect from a physician with the highest standards: Professional, patient and humane. I can't rate Dr. D'Amico highly enough.
Dr. Richard D'Amico and his staff were great! He and his staff are so professional and friendly! I felt so comfortable from the moment I stepped into the waiting Room. My overall experience has been great! For anyone thinking about having a breast reduction....don't think about it anymore! It was the best thing I've ever done for myself!
My experience with Dr. D'Amico and his staff was absolutly wonderful. I had a breast reduction about 6 moths ago and I couldn't be happier about the results. He is a wonderful surgeon who treats you like family.
Thank you for this interesting question. As you suggest, drains are commonly used for tummy tucks, but are generally unnecessary for a breast augmentation. While it is not incorrect to use a drain, it usually just isn’t necessary. A first time breast augmentation should generally place the implants beneath the pectoral major muscle, as well as the breast. This dissection could be carried out with minimal blood loss and almost never requires a drain. When performing complex or revisional surgeries, in certain cases a drain may be indicated. Examples of this would be extensive capsular contracture where a full capsulectomy is necessary and where there is an excessive amount of scar tissue. As always, all surgical decisions should be made only after a thorough consultation with a careful history and thorough physical examination by the operating plastic surgeon. Once again, thanks for this interesting question and Good Luck!
Thank you for this interesting question, Erika. Your question is a very important one. Many face lifts are performed incorrectly every day and that wind swept look that you so much want to avoid. It is worth taking the time and understanding the anatomy and the appropriate surgery to avoid this. The biggest mistake in face lift surgery is putting undue pull on the skin without treating the underlying problem. As we age, all of the tissues of the face lose volume and also begin to descend, usually downward and toward the middle. This is what gives us the nasal labial fold and the jowls. These important deeper tissues are controlled by a connective tissue layer, called the SMAS. This connective tissue layer must be properly repositioned to restore the natural position of the deeper tissues. This is what gives a natural look. The skin is, therefore, lifted up to get it out of the way so this SMAS layer can be surgically stitched up and restored to its normal, natural position. The skin of the face is then simply just laid down and any excess trimmed, just like a tailor would do, without pulling on the skin. This keeps a natural yet restored position giving a natural and restored appearance. This also will have maximum longevity as you go forward. As you know, a thorough physical examination, history and consultation is necessary before any surgical decisions should be made. Good Luck!
There are several ways to restore the hour glass shape to a woman’s torso. This is what gives the waistline its relatively narrower appearance. Depending on the shape and positioning of the muscles, as well as any accumulated fat, there are several ways to go about this. Of course, a thorough consultation with history and physical examination is necessary in order to decide on which method or methods would work best. If there has been recurrence of fatty collections in the waist line area, the simplest approach is to carry out a shaping and sculpting liposuction to restore the shape that you are looking for at the waistline. If there is little or no fat, it may be necessary to go in and place additional sutures to the muscle to restore muscle shape. A third approach would be to add some fat grafting above and especially below; in other words at the rib cage and hip area to accentuate a waistline in between. Once again, a thorough physical examination is necessary to determine which or all of these would be indicated. Thank you for this very interesting question. Good Luck!
Thank you for this very observant question as it is very important to patients considering tummy tuck (abdominoplasty). If a patient has a diastasis recti, which is a vertical gap between the left side and right side abdominal wall muscles, then greater stress is placed continually on the back. Proper surgical repair of the muscles can restore the contribution of the abdominal muscles to stabilize your back. Without repair of a significant diastasis, the back will always be under greater stress and will likely cause problems going forward. This diagnosis requires a thorough physical examination and a careful history. Restoring the physiologic balance in your torso is very important for your long-term health, especially in a busy active, athletic mom. While you can never guarantee relief of pre-existing pain or problems, it certainly helps to take the pressure off the spine by restoring the integrity of the abdominal muscle wall in the front. Good Luck!
Thank you for this interesting question. During pregnancy the right side and the left side of the abdominal muscles must separate to accommodate the growing fetus. The muscles of the left and right side never cross the vertical midline and this is what allows a woman’s abdomen to expand to accommodate the baby. After pregnancy most women’s muscles never get back to their original touching position, and that leaves a vertically oriented space down the middle of the abdomen called a diastasis recti. When it’s really bad even abdominal wall exercise does little or no good. The diastasis will always look better in the morning because during the night the internal organs in the abdomen settle back into the abdomen. As you assume a vertical position and go about your day, the organs then start to sit forward against the muscle wall. This is made more obvious when you eat and put food and air in your intestines. Given this situation, there is little or nothing else you can do short of an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck to flatten your stomach. Of course, all of this should be confirmed by a consultation which should include both a thorough history and a thorough physical examination of your abdominal wall. Lastly, don’t be afraid of the scar. They usually mature quite well and can be hidden under very skimpy undergarments in most cases. Finally, repairing the muscle wall integrity will help your back to stand up to the ravages of time and aging, and make your abdominal work-outs much more productive. Good Luck!
