Lasting Results, Exceeded My Expectations - Denver, CO
I'm in my mid fifties and started to get "thick" around the middle. I think this is common to women my age. I had Dr. Albin liposuction my trunk - all the way around my waist and am thrilled with the results. It was not a hard recovery. I only took about five days off of work. Dr. Albin and his staff are great. They are very helpful and friendly. I think a couple of the women in his office have had lipo, so they could relate to what I was going through. I could not have made this change through diet. It is now FUN to go clothes shopping. Thank you Dr. Albin!!!
I had a great experience. Dr Albin and his staff were incredibly helpful and supportive. I look 20 years younger and very natural. Recovery was easier than I thought and I could go back to work 2 weeks later. I wanted to look more rested and more like I did when I was young. I wish I had done this years ago.
My nostrils post surgery are quite a bit different which Dr Albin attributes to a difference in healing…? I truly didn't expect to replace one problem with my nose with another. I also never received any recommendations post procedure for easing the healing process like using a humidifier when sleeping to help with the breathing.
I had wanted a rhinoplasty performed since I was a teenager and as a young adult I finally saved up enough to get it done. All I really wanted was to refine my hooked nose and make it appear smaller and more feminine. Dr Albin created a monster out of me. I was so clear about what I wanted. Minor and subtle changes to my nose. Add what I got was a hugely bulbous deformity on my face. A pollybeak deformity and collapsed valve that wouldn't allow me to breathe through my nose at night. He revised my nose and the revision was even more disastrous. I cannot possibly explain the damage this "surgeon" did to my esteem, breathing abilities, and physical appearance. Worst mistake of my life.
I went to Richard Albin in June 2010 for a face lift. Before the procedure the right side of my face was marginally larger than the left, although I had never noticed it before. After the procedure the right side of my face was significantly larger. Dr. Albin offered to revise it. My expectation was that he would only take a little bit of tissue from below the right cheekbone so the side of my face would curve in slightly, similar to the left side of my face. He performed the revision in January 2012. During the procedure I received a vertical 1"x 1/2" electrocautery burn from underneath the skin in the nasolabial fold in front of my cheek. I had no idea that he would even be operating in this area. He took tissue from along my right cheekbone, flattened the front of my right cheek and took tissue from my jawline. After the revision, the right side of my face looked nothing like the left side. Since April 2012 I've spent $2800 on Radiesse injections to try to fill these areas in. Last week I had a $4800 fat graft so I wouldn't have to continue to inject filler into my face for the rest of my life. I have a large, ugly, full-thickness scar in the front of my cheek from the cautery burn as well as nerve damage in that area. My right cheekbone hurts constantly. In the past I have never had any issues with healing. In the spring I will need another fat graft once the current Radiesse is absorbed.
This is not an unusual situation. The insurance company will only be asked to cover the functional(airway) part of the procedure so the issue of fraud is not relevant.
This situation understandably causes a lot of concern and you need to see your surgeon. This type of trauma after surgery usually does no harm.
Some swelling is normal, a crooked appearance is not unless this is due to uneven swelling. Ask your surgeon to recheck things for you.
Once the cast or splint is removed the nose swells some more but it will go down. Two weeks is too soon to make a final judgement.
Whatever caused this scar with nostril rim retraction is not as important as realizing you ned to wait until the tissue is soft and movable before attempting any revision. Six months is not usually enough time for the tissue to be soft enough.
