My Rhinoplasty Experience with Ethick Clinic & the Maestro Himself, Dr. Resit Burak Kayan, MD
Rhinoplasty had been my dream for as long as I can remember, but somehow there was always something in the way. Over the past year, I had consultations with several well-known doctors in the U.S., yet I never felt that absolute certainty that I’d found my surgeon.
Then one day, scrolling through Instagram, I came across Dr. Resit Burak Kayan — and something instantly clicked. Every nose he created looked so natural and beautifully balanced — never too small or overdone. His work had that rare harmony where the nose simply belonged on the person’s face. I knew right away: this was the one.
Booking & First Impressions
From my first message with Maria, Dr. Resit’s amazing assistant, everything was smooth and effortless. She was warm, attentive, and organized every detail — from airport transfers to hotel arrangements. My mom came with me, and Maria even arranged a laser treatment for her and helped with all our (many!) questions.
Usually, planning surgery abroad sounds stressful, but this felt the opposite — calm, well-organized, and genuinely pleasant. The drivers were polite, the clinic was spotless, and everyone I met was kind and professional.
Consultation
When I finally met Dr. Resit in person, I felt completely at ease. He took his time, listened carefully to my goals, and presented three design options: Natural, Cindy, and Cool.
Deep down, I loved the “Cool” nose, but I wasn’t sure if it would suit my face. After he answered all my questions with patience and confidence, I felt sure — this was my choice.
Let’s be honest — rhinoplasty is probably the most face-changing surgery you can have. The pressure to make the right decision is huge. But Dr. Resit has a way of guiding you through that with such calm professionalism that you leave feeling secure and excited.
Surgery
It all happened so fast! One moment the anesthesiologist was asking where I was from, and the next I was waking up (freezing — not the most glamorous moment ).
A little later, Dr. Resit came by and showed me my new nose for the very first time. I was speechless. Even swollen on the table photo, I could see the balance, the refinement — it already looked perfect( and so much more refined)
The Big Reveal
Before flying home, I had my final check-up — the famous “cast removal day.” Maria once again took care of all logistics, even coordinating so my mom (who had her own laser treatment) could see the doctor before her flight.
Dr. Resit was so gentle during the process, even while removing the (huge!) nasal tampons — which I still can’t believe were inside my nose for six days. It wasn’t exactly comfortable, but he made it as easy as possible.
Then came the big reveal. No amount of YouTube videos or TikToks can prepare you for that moment. When you see your reflection for the first time, your brain almost doesn’t recognize your face. Even though I could tell the nose was straighter, smaller, and more refined, it still felt surreal and shocking.
The first few minutes were pure shock — not because of the result (which was already beautiful), but because your mind needs time to adjust to your “new” reflection.
Now, two weeks post-op, the swelling in my cheeks is mostly gone, my upper lip is still a bit numb, and my smile slightly crooked — but I already see how amazing the shape is. Every day, my face looks more natural and balanced.
Recovery & Real Talk
I also had a CO? laser treatment, which added some extra swelling, but overall, I had zero pain — just pressure, like a sinus infection. The hardest part was the constant cleaning and ointment routine every few hours, which doesn’t leave much room for sleep.
Still, I felt supported and calm the whole time. I think the biggest key to that was trust — I completely trusted Dr. Resit’s experience and artistry. He’s done hundreds (if not thousands) of rhinoplasties, and you can feel that mastery in everything he does.
I’m following all his post-op instructions exactly — no massages, no taping the tip — just as he advised. It gives me peace of mind knowing I’m doing everything right.
My Tips for Future Patients
A few things I wish I’d known before surgery:
• Disable Face ID on your phone — your phone won’t recognize you afterward!
• Make ice gloves (fill gloves with water and freeze them) before surgery — lifesaver.
• Check the emergency button in your hospital room — mine didn’t work.
• Arrive a day early to rest after your flight; it really helps your body prepare.
• Bring stomach meds and probiotics — antibiotics can upset your digestion.
• Use gauze under your nose when going out; it prevents awkward moments.
• Always ask blowout prices upfront — I learned that one the hard way!
The clinic and hotel setup made recovery surprisingly easy — there’s a pharmacy, salon, grocery store, and restaurant all downstairs. My room had a beautiful view and a little kitchen, which I used to make ginger tea and humidify the air.
Final Thoughts
I genuinely couldn’t be happier with my experience at Ethick Clinic and with Dr. Resit Burak Kayan. From start to finish, everything was handled with care, precision, and warmth. What could have been a stressful medical trip felt almost like a luxury retreat.
I’m still healing, but I already know I made the best choice. My confidence in Dr. Resit and his team is absolute — and I can’t wait to see my final results in the coming months.
If you’re considering rhinoplasty, especially abroad, I can say this with 100% confidence: you’re in the best hands with Dr. Resit.
