After tones of research about lipedema, I read about Dr.Aktas and after the first consultation, I knew that he is the right one to trust. He is an expert in this field; on the contrary of many other doctors, he does not see the process as a simple liposuction and knows how lipedema acts, how the patients feel and he does not promise higher expectations than it should be expected in terms of your body age and stage of disease. I had a lipedema surgery (stage 1) in November 2024, 3 liters of diseased fat removed from my lower legs. I had lipedema stage 2 and I live in the US, so I scheduled an appointment with a doctor in Turkey (and I will mention his name so people don’t fall victims. His name is Yener Demirtas). We scheduled the surgery on Dec 8th and just one day before the surgery he was not receiving my texts so I texted his assistant who told me he had flu and told others he had Covid so he couldn’t do my surgery and I had already booked my flight and took a leave. I was devastated to know that and how deceiving people can be. He then told me he had a car accident. It was all lies. Anyways, my friend suggested Doctor Resat Aktas and I talked to him the morning of my travel and he assured me and scheduled my appointment the same day I wanted it to be and I did the surgery and he took 18 litres from my thighs. Dear Madam, I hope you are doing well. Yes your BMI is over the liposuction criteria. In your case first it would be fine if you would try to lose weight on your own. If you can not, you would consider liposuction and skin removal options. According to my experience the best option is removal of excess fat from your legs and arms, later skin removal surgery should be done. It is a long journey around 1-2 years however if you would be patient, I believe that you see its result.
Unfortunately no, you are not a candidate for liposuction operation. First of all you need to clarify your expectation and maybe go to gym for reshaping your body.
Dear Madam I hope you are doing well. According to your photos you have lipedema stage 3. Your weight is over normal limits. In your case the best option is first start a low carb diet, life style changes and gym and manual lymphatic massage and compression socks. Surgery can be done as well but lowering your weight should be the best option. If you think that it is not possible for you to reduce your weight, surgery can be discussed. In that case you need at least 2 or 3 liposuction operations and 1 skin removal surgery for your thighs.Kind Regards
Dear Madam, I hope you are doing well. You have stage 2 type 3 lipedema. And I guess you had liposuction and tummy tuck. That shows your legs bigger proportionally. But lipedema is disease which has a treatment. You can find a plastic surgeon close to you for having liposuction for lipedema
Scientifically the best is first having your varicous veins been treated and later have your liposuction surgery. Technically it is possible to perform your liposuction first however, untreated veins can cause some serious complications or extended recovery for liposuction. That's why it would be fine if you have treatment for your veins.
