I’m 28 years old, 5’6”, 139lbs. I’ve wanted this surgery for a long time. I finally decided to make an appointment at Panama City Plastic Surgery. It was the best experience! Every single member of the office went above and beyond. Dr. Raymond Mockler, explained everything and took his time to answer any questions and give feedback and asked for my feedback on the whole process. Michelle, she was the absolute best! She helped me with picking my size and let me tell you that’s not an easy thing to chose. It took me three times trying the breast sizers until I finally decided. I chose the 405 cc smooth silicone implants. I never felt rushed or another number at this office. They were truly amazing. Day before my surgery I had an appointment at Dr. Mockler's to finalize everything. He also drew and outlined the areas he needed on my chest/breast for surgery day. Day of surgery everything was perfect. I felt informed, cared for and set up for success. My surgery was on a Friday and he had me come to the office on Saturday afternoon the remove the bandages and check to make sure everything looks good. He was very pleased with the outcome and so was I. I owe it all to Dr. Mockler and his wonderful staff. I have an appointment for Monday as well just to check to see how everything is healing. I’m so happy I chose Dr. Mockler and his wonderful team. They are incredible.
I was a 38H before my reduction, and now I expect I will be a 38C. I was very nervous before my surgery, but it has been much better than I expected. I'm one day post-op and the pain is not too bad at all. I'm taking my pain medication every 4 hours, so I'm sure that makes a big difference, but even still it really isn't that bad. I had a follow up appointment today, and the PS changed my steri-strips and took out the drain on my left breast. They gave me a sports bra that hooks in the front, which I will day and night for the next few weeks. This bra has been the only thing to cause me pain, since it goes over my incisions. Even still, the pain is much less than I feared. Most importantly, I am elated with my results! I feel liberated with all the weight removed. I had nearly 5 pounds taken off; 1024 grams on the right, and 1200 grams on the left. I did not need a free nipple graft either. My breasts are perky, full, and round! I was worried about having a flattened, smaller breast, but these look almost like implants. My PS was able to do a superomedial pedicle which left me with a lot of roundness. For anyone that is afraid of pain or worried about the outcome, I highly recommend doing it. Updated on 14 Mar 2013: I'm now 3 days post op, and I feel great! I could go back to work on Monday (it is Thursday now), but I'm still going to take the next week off. The recovery has been much easier than I expected. Today, I went to the grocery store and picked up a 10 pound bag of bird seed, no problem. I have a litle bit of itching and minor pain along the suture line under my breasts, but I think that's mostly from the sports bra going over the suture lines. I'm feeling great! Updated on 17 Mar 2013: I had a rough night yesterday. My pain wasn't bad at all, but for some reason it's gotten worse. I think it's just from the healing process. I have a lot of pain at night, when I try to go to sleep. Finding a confortable position with a billion pillows is such a challenge! The band on the sports bra really hurts the sutures under my breasts, and along my under arm area. I'm feeling much better today though. I have an appt tomorrow with the PS, which will be one week post op. I'm not sure what to expect. It's probably to early to take my stitches out, right? I will be happy with a change of the steri-strips at least. They were driving me bananas yesterday, and I sprayed them a bit with bactine which seemed to help. Updated on 19 Mar 2013: Lots of tears at one week post- op. I think it was a release of physical stress that came out emotionally. Feeling much better though. Updated on 21 Mar 2013: I got new steri-strips from work and decided to finally reveal the boobs without the sutures covered. It feels good to switch the steri-strips every few days anyway. Today's reveal was good and bad. The right nipple looks a lot better than lefty's, and I hope eventually they even out with the healing. The sutures along my breast and the T-zone look completely sealed! I'm sure it's not really sealed since it has only been 10 days, but it makes me optimistic about how these scars will look in the end. I think they will hardly be noticable. Anyway, the left nipple is struggling, but that's about it. I have one sore spot at the end of my suture on the left breast. I took the opportunity to clean it with soap and put some bacitracin on it. I have added a few pics of today's escapades. Updated on 23 Mar 2013: I tried on a few bras at the store, and I was fitting into the D sizes! Such great news. To be honest, I was a little distressed about the fact that I've been fitting into DDs. It must mean that some of my swelling is going down. Yay! Updated on 30 Mar 2013: Well, things are healing nicely. I took the steri-strips off and had another look. I'm relieved that the left side looks significantly better!! It looks as though I might end up with a little dog ear in my right cleavage. I think it's no big deal to correct later, so that may be in store for me, but maybe it'll go away. Anyway, I went back to work last week. I did a lot of paperwork, but it was still a lot of moving and activity. By 12-1pm, I would end up with a burning sensation that would last the rest of the day. I'm not sure if this from moving in a sports bra that's one size too big, or just regular healing. It's not too bad, but it's uncomfortable. I might try wearing a bra in a 38, my regular size since my sutures underneath are pretty well healed now. Updated on 5 Apr 2013: I can't stop flashing people! hahahaha! Call Joe Francis, I need to get on Girls Gone Wild! I flashed 3 coworkers today. I feel like they need to see the new boobies as they look better and better. I'm very pleased with my healing. I was a little concern about having flat nipples, but that has started to diminish. They are finally coming back to life! Updated on 16 Apr 2013: I have been feeling back to my old self. I have some itching, but oteherwise things are healing well. Updated on 27 Apr 2013: Not much is new. My itching and random pains have stopped. I'm really looking forward to summer this year & all the new clothes I can wear!
I have used this forum to educate myself and help me make a decision to have my implants removed. My saline implants are hard although after being examined are not incapsulated. (I think that's the right term, sorry) My plastic surgeon is going to perform an in office procedure on Wednesday. He will remove/drain the saline from my silicone implants, basically deflating them. I will wear a tight sports bra for a couple of months to give my body time to settle down. This will give me a good idea of what I will look like with no implant. If I am happy, he will go through the original incision around my nipple to remove the deflated implant and scar tissue. The end. If I'm not happy, he will still remove the deflated implant and scar tissue, but will put a new silicone implant in, although I do want a small implant, maybe 250cc. I have 400 now. I'm only posting to help anyone else with their research on making a decision. Updated on 10 Nov 2015: I'm sorry I took longer than I wanted to, to post pictures. Here are my results at almost two weeks of having my implants drained of the saline. I have been wearing a tight compression band and sports bra for the entire time, except while showering. I am very pleased with the results. I am wondering how much size I will lose after the deflated implants are removed and may end up with a small silicone implant in January. I can feel the implants, it's a little strange but I am getting used to them. Soon enough they'll be gone.
I had a tummy tuck just a week ago. I eat right and exercise but have never been able to get rid of that tummy from my c section 18 years ago. So I finally did it. I have a lot of swelling, but I can already tell how flat my tummy is going to be. I am glad I had it done. This will balance out my body and help me look like the athlete I am.
This is a common area of discussion. Breast implants placed partially under the pectoralis muscle generally have a more natural appearance. There are a number of variations available with this technique. The muscle is generally released along the inframammmary fold. It is freed from the overlying breast tissue a variable degree depending on the need to obtain a natural shape. However, there are cases where a more natural appearance is obtained by placing the implants over the muscle. This would include a patient that uses her pectoralis muscle for activities such as body building. Also in cases where work demands require frequent use of the muscle. Placing the implant under the muscle can lead to animation deformities or implant displacement in these cases. There are many factors to consider such as implant type, tissue thickness, breast size and breast shape. It is best to have a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for a full discussion in all these matters.
