Lip lines (perioral lines) vary from person to person and it all depends on
1) Patient age
2) Skin quality and skin care regime
3) Smoking
4) Number of lines
We have to be careful with the relaxation of the muscle surrounding the lip as too much can cause problems with eating and talking and moving your lips, people generally struggle with sipping a hot cup of tea and drinking through a straw.
I would be cautious to wait a full 2 weeks before assessing your final result. If you are still unhappy i would look at skin rejuvenating treatments like products/needling/ skin peels/ and some very soft fluid dermal filler in the upper lip border which may also help improve things further. I usually carry out the botox first then wait 2 weeks then do any filler treatment. The swelling usually will go down a lot over 2 weeks. Ice and Arnica cream can help you during this time.
