Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers to Fix Overbite, Change Face Shape, Correct Square Jaw. Smile Makeover. Facelift w/ Veneers! - New York, NY

This is a review for the outstanding work from Dr. Tabib and Dr. Melo at NYC smile design. But first I want to talk a bit about my journey. I used to hate to smile. My teeth were short, becoming worn with age, and had gaps. But the more I looked at my smile in the mirror the more I felt that throwing some veneers on them wouldn't fix what bothered me. I began to realize that my smile shyness came from the fact that I had an overbite and a very square jaw that made the bottom half of my face appear heavier and a little bit "squished", which seemed to age my face. A deep overbite makes it so that the jaw is pushed back which can make the chin look small, the face shape off, and cause a more wrinkled or angry looking face. For me, it made my face look especially short and squished. At this point I wondered if in addition to veneers I would need to get some sort of jaw surgery to fix my zero degree jawline, which seemed scary! Doing some research I came across a website promising "facelift dentistry" with non permanent veneers, which seemed to be the answer to my problem. I went for a consultation, arriving to a packed waiting room in Southern California. However I wasn't convinced this doctor was for me: 1. The veneers aren't porcelain, they are prepless, meaning that they aren't as customized, aren't permanent, and can possibly look a bit bulky. 2. This dentist listed some awards that I couldn't find credentials for-- perhaps he made it up since he seems to have won it every year. This doctor is very good at SEO and marketing/promotion but all the articles bout him seem to come from fake news websites. 3. Moreover, for a full mouth of prepless veneers this doctor was charging $80,000 when the cost for prepless is usually far less (around 20k maybe?) That doc is making a fortune I am sure, given how little time he spent with me in the consult and how many other people waited in the small nondescript waiting room. I felt dejected but now at least I knew more about what I wanted: for me getting someone who gets bite correction (orthodontics) would be just as important as finding beautiful porcelain veneers. But this was difficult, as I want to reputable cosmetic dentist after dentist in NYC who didn't understand what I was talking about with my face shape and overbite and hoping veneers could fix it. But then! Enter: NYC smile design. Dr. Elisa Mello and Dr. Ramin Tabib are a couple-dentist team who specialize in cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics. So many cosmetic dentists I went to didn't understand my overbite issue but they immediately got it, and agreed that for me the bite was the big fix, and that I was a great candidate for veneers. They fixed my bite, opening up my facial features and gave me a beautiful mouth full of porcelain veneers for less than what I was quoted previously. I can't praise the doctors enough as they were super friendly, helpful, and did just simply beautiful work, managing to always get me in quickly. My dental assistant always reminded me Dr. Tabib is a perfectionist and I couldn't be happier, I felt he really took his time to make sure that i was getting the best result, the most perfect smile. Nothing about this felt out of the box but totally customized to my needs, what I want, and what would look best for me. And the results are dramatic! I am so unbelievably happy with my new face and smile. The "squished" look and zero degree jawline are gone, my whole face seems to have opened up. Honestly, it's totally altered my "look" and I feel truly beautiful, truly myself, and always eager to smile big!
