I would have to totally disagree with the doctor above. We have a protocol for all patients not only to do a wax up but there is a way to take the wax up and make a preview smile template that goes in and the patient sees it in the chair of what the veneers would look like. Why do composite buildup and if you dont like it you have to walk out like that.
We do a wax up, then the template and we can always change that if the patient wants to make something shorter longer etc, plus the lab IS KEY!!
We use a lab in NYC called Jason Kim who does all celebrities from all over the world. As a dentist who sees a lot of prominent city officials in the state and has people fly in the from the middle east this protocol has been proven to have very minimum risks and it makes the patient feel confident in their decision.
