While amblyopia may be associated with ptosis of the upper lid, it is unlikely. Patching will probably note affect the lid height. If there is a question of amblyopia, it is important to treat early. We&nbsp;use the Pediatric&nbsp;Guibor 4-0 Supramid double trapezoidal sling unilaterally in these pediatric cases, if there is any question regarding visual loss. Otherwise, we prefer to wait until 5 years of age and a levator resection works best to correct the blepharoptosis.

Hi my baby girl who is now 2 months old, from her birth we observed that her left eye looks smaller than right eye. Our ped asked us to go opt. We consulted with opt, he asked us to do eye patch on her good eye for at least half an hour. And we do have follow up next month. But am worried much looking at her everyday. Any suggestions would be really appreciated. TIA

You need to see a local oculoplastic surgeon to really evaluate your eye lid function. It is possible that you may want to consider a straight forward unilateral blepharoplasty right upper lid. The levator may need a bit of recession&nbsp;of the right upper lid, if you think your&nbsp;left upper lid is a bit low. At any rate, do minimal surgery right upper lid under local. Good luck&nbsp;

One of my eyelids is bigger than the other, started noticing this about a year ago and it really bothers me because it looks ugly! Another thing is, everytime I have a headache is behind my left eye the one with the puffy eye lid. How can I get this corrected?

Difficult to say if your post op results are normal or not normal. However, you should return to your surgeon for best solution to problem.

How long does it take for dry eyes to resolve after an upper blephoplasty?

I had upper blepharoplasty 6 weeks ago. Is it normal to feel my eyes tight and stiff and not closing right eye all they way?

You really need photos to determine best approach to problem. Good luck. Ask your surgeon to suggest an oculoplastic surgeon in your area of the world who might be able to examine you.

Hey, I went to the doctor like a year and a half ago. I had astigmatism in one of my eyes, so I had to buy glasses. I did. But it doesn't actually suit me so i stopped wearing them. Now I realize one eye is getting bigger than the other, the one with astigmatism. Help

You need gaze views on up and down gaze for best answer to evaluate levator function. Of course, the surgeon who you select should make the call and best approach to your condition. It will be important to match the lid crease height equally, which may require some skill. Anchoring of upper lid crease with 5-0 or 6-0 clear nylon will be important. The brow is another item of concern, however, very difficult to correct without scars. Again, your surgeon can best evaluate condition and may suggest coronal brow lift, instead of direct brow lifting. Small incision anchor sutures are not long lasting, in my experience. Good luck

As you can see from the photos one eye/eyebrow is higher up than the other and appears to have some excess skin around the eyelid, while the other eye/eyebrow is much lower and has a droopy eyelid. I am serious about having any surgery done, but would like to know what I can do to make them as symmetrical as possible and how much would it cost. Had little asymmetry but recently got alot worse after I got ill and was given prednisolone (steroid type drug) and gained water weight. Mostly gone now.

When we do a revision or second cosmetic procedure, the patient is usually responsible for fees. This should be discussed in full&nbsp; prior to surgery and some surgeons request payment prior to surgery, so there is no misunderstanding.

I had a Blepharoplasty operation to correct overhanging eyelids plus change a congenital asymmetry in eye opening aperture. The result was a non correction of the aperture asymmetry as well as additional puckering around the end stitch of one eye. The surgery was performed by the State's top surgeon. At the 7 day check up, this surgeon informed me that I would need a surgical correction the following week, billed to me.

I don't see any benefit for surgical correction. You would need gaze up and gaze down to evaluate levator function. I don't think you are a candidate for surgery at this time. &nbsp;

I am so insecure about this I don't even like pictures being taken of me anymore because I feel I look deformed. I think it has gotten worse since I've gotten older. I am 29 now and I noticed it before but now it's really pounced. One eye is definitely more open than the other but I feel that they are truly uneven on my face. What can I do? Is ere anything reasonable that would actually make it better and not a possibly terrible outcome?

It looks like 1 mm off and not worth the risks and complications of correction. Use your make up more skillfully and don't look in the mirror so much. The chances of over correction or under correction outweigh the benefits.&nbsp;Save your money and time.

My left eye is noticeably lover than the right one. I tried to measure if the orbits' edges are at the same level and I think they are. I have never been using lenses. I have this asimmetry since childhood (don't have the photo right now). Is it possible to fix it?

It would depend on your review of your condition with your local oculoplastic surgeon. You had have a local anesthesia levator resection to elevate the right upper lid or a levator recession of the left upper lid to lower the left upper lid. Local anesthesia is essential for best matching results.

I was born with a one-layer eyelid and congenital ptosis on my right eye. I had a double-layer eyelid 3 years ago. However, the right eyelid gets droopy and it is noticeable that my left and right eyes are not equal. I would like to have an adjustment surgery.

It appears that you have some right upper lid retraction, however, photos in up, straight ahead and down gaze would be helpful. The dynamics of the lids are very important and would suggest you see your local oculoplastic surgeon for best answer and correction.

One eye has always been a little bit bigger than the other but now the difference is so pronounced I am very self-conscious. The got really pronounced after a surgery to fix cheek implants and the doctor went in through the lower eye for some reason which really made the one eye bigger and I also have a genetic drooping eyelid thing
