I have severe crowding in the bottom and an overbite. I want to my teeth to completely straight. I also want to improve my bite, but I don't want to completely get rid of my over bite. I long large teeth and a I would like them to be smaller and rounder. Dr.Lieb proposed the perfect plan according to my facial structure. This is the kind of approach you wouldn't get from going to an orthodontist or regular dentist.
Stop using toothpicks and mechanically aggressive toothbrushes. It’s not that toothpicks and mechanical toothbrushes are not beneficial to teeth. It’s just that very often people can be heavy-handed and apply too much pressure while using various apparatus. Therefore, instead of having positive benefits they can wind up doing damage and getting negative results. For example, if you use a toothpick with too much pressure you may cause the gums to actually recede. Or if you use mechanical toothbrushes too aggressively you can erode the enamel and also cause gums to recede. These mechanisms can be beneficial but just need to be used properly.
I wish all my patients would floss more. One should floss every evening.
You should choose a whitening system based on how long the whitening product stays on your teeth. The less time that the hydrogen peroxide is placed on your tooth, the better, and you'll experience less to no sensitivity.
The most important thing to look for in at-home kits is that they fit the size and shape of your teeth. Example, whitening strips are straight across and your teeth are scalloped. Make sure the at-home bleaching kits cover your whole tooth otherwise you will have two toned teeth or irritated gums.
