Will one syringe of filler help both sides of my jaw be sharper? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I believe you are asking if one syringe is enough to shape both mandibular angles. You are right you do not need any more volume in your chin the implant looks great. The jawline and it's point of prominence normally can take up good amount of volume. Yes you can sharpen them with filler but if you want real results substantial enough to make you happy, you need at least one syringe on each side.

I think your jaw looks good as it is, so if this is not making you happy that means you are expecting a significant projection there.  Get one syringe on each side for results that could make you happy and last long.

What does the loosening of threads from a thread lift entail?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for the question. Threads are made of biologically safe material which dissolve spontaneously. The procedure is referred to as "minimally invasive"  partly due to the fact that a large gauge blunt head needle is used to deliver the thread. With the right technique it should be virtually painless. The Thread that you may be referring to is the "barb" type. Once placed in the right plane, the physician pulls the skin back as he or she pulls the needle out,  this holds skin up. There will be multiple threads placed so it will be unlikely that all loosen at the same time. Once thread dissolves it will leave behind collagen which contributes to the length of time it lasts.

Can you have lip fillers using the hylauron pen while breastfeeding?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for the question. I understand that having a child is no small matter! Going through months of pregnancy and then delivery followed by sleepless nights and breast feeding takes a toll of any woman's body. I bet you can't wait to get back into self care and facial rejuvenation.

There has been no conclusive study to evaluate the impact of  hyaluronic acid injection to infant during breast feeding. As professional injectors we do not advise pregnant or breast feeding mothers undergo cosmetic injectables.

When comparing the benefit of plumping lips vrs potential harm on a new born child, one might deduct waiting to be done with breast feeding before lip injections is the right choice to make.

My donor area is really bad as it was over harvested. Would I be suitable to get another hair transplant in the future? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I am sorry this happened to you. As a Hair Transplant provider I am always cautious about over harvesting. This issue is personal to me because I had hair transplant myself over 10 years ago and suffered from over harvested area, and my procedure was done in USA!

In the last 10 years I became trained and certified in Hair Transplant. When performing the procedure I always make sure to inject both the transplanted and the harvested area with PRP mixed with Acell, a product which induces stem cells and helps regenerate hair. This has particularly helped the harvested area to recover well.

At this time for you I would suggest to find a local hair consultant and try PRP/stem cell induction with injections and micro needling of your harvested area. Over multiple treatments you may improve the density of your own natural hair in your harvested area.

Should I get Ultherapy or a thread lift first?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thank you for this great question. Ultherapy should not dissolve your fillers. I believe your aesthetic clinician should be the one deciding on which procedure to be done first. Ultherapy will tighten your skin superficially, the thread will be placed in deeper dermal layer so the two should not conflict in any way. However, generally its best to do ultherapy first and then thread lift. It is great that you understand that best results come from using a combination of modalities each correcting a different aspect of your skin and structures beneath.

Can kybella resolve my double chin? (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Yes Kybella is FDA approved for treatment of that area. You can certainly consider more invasive procedures such as liposuction, but if you desire a quick treatment with little to no downtime Kybella is the way to go.

Here are some things to consider, your age and skin laxity can play a role. Kybella slowly dissolves fat and creates a tightening effect how ever this tightening may not happen as well in advancing age. An office consultation is important to better decide if you are a good candidate.

You may also benefits from chin and jawline filler both of which help giving you best final result.

Lastly you may need more than one treatment to get to desired results.

I have enlarged pores on my cheek and am considering microneedling. Will it work? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Yes micro-needling would certainly work for acne scars and large pores, but you want to make sure it is done with application of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and possibly stem cell induction (if your provider has the right product for this.) You can certainly have laser or chemical peels but in my opinion Micro needling with PRP will give you the best natural final results. You , however, may need to have more than one treatment (as you do with other methods.)

Is it safe to do microneedling with Sculptra? I believe is like a topical Sculptra that they add during the procedure

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This is an interesting question! If I understand correctly you are asking if it is safe to apply sculptra (instead of PRP or hyaluronic acid) to the skin during micro needling of skin.

Theoretically this makes sense  and this is a smart thought.

In my opinion it’s best to inject sculptra into deeper layers and do PRP micro needling to top of the skin. One can add ACell, an extra cellular matrix, which promotes stem cell induction and regeneration of top layer of skin.

Sculptra promotes collagen formation in the connective tissue. It requires aggressive massaging for at least 5 days to make sure results are not “bumpy”. This is because collagen deposits may not be evenly distributed and the massage helps even out the results.

First problem is that after micro needling the skin will be sensitive in healing stage and frequent massage may be a challenge.

Secondly bumpy results of sculptra is better tolerated in deeper tissue and camouflaged by epidermis. But micro needling will place sculptra in outermost layer of skin and you don’t want to take the risk of having bumpy skin.

I would probably try to experiment this on a site other than face first , wait 4 to 6 weeks to see results before starting with face!

My head was burned when I was a young boy leaving patches of missing hair, would a hair transplant fill in the spots? (Photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Yes it is possible to transplant hair follicles to some of those areas particularly smaller ones but not to all. There needs to be enough normal tissue surrounding the scars to allow for angiogenesis of new blood supply. We promote new blood supply by addition of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) plus Extra Cellular Matrix (a product added to PRP) which will promote stem cell recruitment to the area and increase change of follicular  survival.
