After 30 years and 4 implant revisions due to persistent encapsulation, I had my implants removed in December 2024. The results were VERY disappointing. I had virtually no breast tissue left and the bottom half of both breasts was stuck to my chest wall.
I’m old but I’m not dead; I wanted at least a bit of normality back. I spoke with 3 surgeons including one in Europe. All 3 recommended we insert spanners for up to 6 months to left tissue from the chest wall and create room for new implants. Then a second surgery to remove the spanners and insert the new implants. Moreover, they all suggested 325-375cc implants. I’m a small person - that’s just too big for me. And the idea of monthly visits to inflate the spanners was just not acceptable to me.
Dr Henderson was surgeon #4 and I’m so glad I went that one additional step! He had a better, faster solution to my issue (1 step surgery instead of 2 as others had suggested) and he delivered what he promised! I’m thrilled with my results. He was able to release the scar tissue without spanners and suggested 220-250cc implants. (He actually used 170 and 220. My breasts look better than they have in 15 years! VERY highly recommend Dr Henderson.
