Started my Invisalign journey 2 days ago. It's been a lifelong dream to have straight teeth and I finally gathered the courage to do it. So far so good. I was afraid I wouldn't tolerate the material in my mouth but it's doable. AccelaDent helps tremendously, I used it yesterday for the first time. My schedule is to change trays every 3 days. I have 24 to go through though my orthodontist wants to see me at tray 22 so we can evaluate and see if/how many refinement trays I might need. I'll try to post pictures and updates once a week. Good luck to all who are starting treatment! Updated on 24 Aug 2015: So I made it through my Invisalign journey week 1! 8 more to go before I see my orthodontist and 19 more trays. I changed to my 3rd trays last night. Can say it's definitely the most aggressive so far. As soon as I put them on I could feel exactly which teeth are being pushed. I have to take Tylenol at night but it's just once a day so I figured it won't hurt me to do it for a few months. This week I'll change trays again Wed night and Sat night. It's fascinating to compare trays, I think I'm getting obsessed:) anyways, posting some pics, will write again in a week. Updated on 24 Aug 2015: Updated on 24 Aug 2015: Updated on 31 Aug 2015: Not much to report, using AccelaDent and changing trays every 3 days. I no longer have to take Tylenol at night. Took some pictures without the trays, attaching them. Updated on 9 Sep 2015: Updated on 9 Sep 2015: Updated on 10 Sep 2015: Updated on 16 Sep 2015: Definitely feeling the trays getting more aggressive. But I also see more movement. Changing to tray 11 tonight. Updated on 21 Sep 2015: Things are moving along! I am at half way point. I am very happy with the left side of my teeth, now waiting for the left to straighten up. Updated on 29 Sep 2015: Had a little set back on tray 12 - ended up wearing it for an entire week as my right canine wasn't tracking. Went to see my orthodontist and they bulked up the attachments on my teeth. Moved on to tray 13 and back to my treatment. Another appointment in 20 days. Updated on 13 Oct 2015: Sorry to not have been posting..life got crazy busy. I am definitely going to need refinements but I am still making good progress. Overall much different from less than 2 months ago! Updated on 13 Oct 2015: I think the problem now is not even the upper canine, it's the bottom tooth that fell behind. Luckily it doesn't show when you smile. You see the left side no longer has an open bite, right side getting there. Updated on 29 Oct 2015: Went for my 2 month check up and we ordered refinements. Good news is I only wear the trays when I sleep so I can actually go to a restaurant like a normal person! Happy with my teeth already, I want to see a bit more movement and call it a day. Updated on 14 Dec 2015: So I received 25 refinements and my orthodontist think I'll have to go through 22 of them. It's basically another 2 months. I am happy with the results already, just trying to close an open bite on the right side. Taking this pic of tray 5. Updated on 21 Dec 2015: Most of the work is being done on lower 2nd, rotating it into position. Updated on 29 Dec 2015: It's amazing when I wake up in the morning and see for the first time in my life that my teeth are touching???? So moving on. I have another 13 trays until I'm done. Updated on 11 Jan 2016: I feel I am almost done! 3 more weeks until my final appointment! Updated on 25 Jan 2016: Not much to report, have an appointment next Tue. I am ready to be done happy with the results and I REALLY want the attachments off my teeth because they have stained from all the coffee I drink???? Updated on 30 Jan 2016: Ok, as u get closer to the finish line I am getting more picky:) I see imperfections but overall happy with the results! Updated on 2 Feb 2016:
Your problem is typical of the type of problem the Invisalign can correct. Be sure to check the experience of the Orthodontist you see. The treatment will likely take 18 months.
There are a number of things that need to be considered when extracting teeth for adult braces. Only an experienced orthodontist can give you the answer. Please see at least two orthodontists to get their opinions.
