I have been seeing Dr. Serrano for the past ten years on/off. He has a warm, friendly personality and is a talented orthodontist. I got diagnosed with a craniofacial condition (as an adult) in my jaw and he worked closely with my surgeon to get my bite ready pre/post orthognathic surgery. My teeth are really straight. I have had ongoing issues with my jaw condition and he has made me a splint for my jaw pain that has helped tremendously while I wait to have my next surgery. I highly recommend him and his office staff. He can handle complex cases with ease. My two sons (ages 11 and 13) also currently see him for their braces and their teeth are moving beautifully.
I have been a patient of Dr. Serrano's for over 20 years!! I get compliments daily in my beautiful smile. I recently saw Dr. Serrano to get fitted for a new Retainer. His office staff was very helpful in scheduling my appointment. When I arrived everyone was super friendly and the office was beautiful. Some of the staff was the same from when I recieved my initial treatment and they remembered me, all these years later! When I went back to get fitted it took less then 10 minutes and was done with 3D imaging! My new retainer was ready in less then 2 days!! Complete top notch service. I know have two children and will definitely be bringing them to Dr. Serrano to ensure they have an amazing smile like their mom.
Dr. Serrano put my braces on when I was 12 years old and with meticulous time and care managed to turn crazy teeth into a beautiful smile that has remained perfect since (and 20 years have passed). Dr. Serrano and his staff taught me how to brush, floss and take care of my teeth ensuring they remain in perfect condition. He still checks my teeth every few years, and adjusts the retainer to make sure the top bite does not go back to doing anything crazy and provides whitening treatment to keep them sparkling.
I had wanted straight teeth my entire life and I taught I was too old for braces now, but Dr. Serrano reassure me that braces was the best way to make my dream come true. I am very happy with my treatment progress, I can already see the improvement. Dr.Serrano and his staff are truly the best, he is very professional and very happy I chose him to do my braces
I loved going to Dr. Serrano's office for my treatment! The front office was so friendly and always had a smile on their face. Connie up at the front always made me feel welcomed. The staff in the back was always very gentle when making adjustments which was huge for me as I hate having any kind of dental work done. The best part was, after treatment, there were always fresh backed cookies for their patients to enjoy. (Who doesn't love fresh cookies?!) I would 100% recommend Dr. Serrano to anyone seeking orthodontic work. --Oh, and thanks to Dr. Serrano I have BEAUTIFUL teeth that I am so happy and proud of!
The final 'plan' for jaw surgery involves many considerations. The art and science of this procedure can vary but these days the upper jaw advancement seems to make more sense for the future airway. Combining two jaws allows less lower jaw set back which be more precise in the final out come. Many surgeons are comfortable doing the cheeks at the same time and many feel that it increases risk of infection. In my experience a follow up procedure is less risky AND can be better assessed for size etc.
Intial alignment of front teeth can happen with in the first 6 months BUT making the bite ( occlusion and overbite) correct and allowing for the teeth to remain straight for years to come takes longer. An orthodontist can usually predict how fast that is happening IF cooperation with elastics etc is happening.
Often times after ideal alignment of front teeth ( even the roots that you can't see) the teeth are in a very healthy position BUT the edges of the teeth AND the shape of the teeth are still distracting ( don't look 'straight'). By simple contouring artistically the edges and shapes a almost perfect result can occur. Cosmetic dentist are artistic and adept at performing this procedure called 'ENAMELPLASTY'. Some orthodontist perform this routinely at the retainer delivery.
If the aligner/tray does not fit precisely on the teeth they may not move as prescribed. Often times this is referred to as 'not tracking ' and the trays may need to refit for the most desirable progress.
I use Invisalign Express when I think 20 wks of treatment will correct the minor crowding. That being said , It takes significant experience using Invisalign AND realistic goals/ expectations to make sure the technique meets the expectations . Sometimes more trays ( weeks ) are required in cases that the virtual treatment is not achieved and the expectation of the patient either change or have not been met. Extending treatment ( more trays) time is possible but often times requires adjusting the fees.
