I recently had a great experience with Dr. McAndrews. I did a lot of research first considering the decision to get a hair transplant and got several different consultations but other doctors. Upon meeting him you can tell Dr. McAndrews is a professional that knows what he's doing and is approved by the American Hair Loss Association (which was big to me). The whole team there made me feel very comfortable going in as I was quite anxious and they did an excellent job. He took his time explaining the options available to me, and has been responsive to me beyond just the day of the procedure (in both instances), which is reassuring to any patient. He takes pride in the artistry of his work, and prioritizes not just the most efficient use of available donor grafts, but also the longer-term consequences of transplant choices, which helped build my trust. Dr. McAndrews is THE guy for your hair transplant. I was truly impressed by his knowledge and his skill. He met me face-to-face on my very first consult and spent an hour explaining the ins and outs of the different treatment options. He also dispelled a lot of the false information that's out there. Not all doctors do this. Most will have you meet with a non-medical consultant first to discuss your options. This means that you don't end up being examined by the person with the most expertise and you also don't get the chance to ask questions to that person. I just had my first transplant, which went very well thanks to the Dr. and his excellent team. They are all extremely pleasant, professional, courteous and they excel at what they do. Everything went smoothly and I can't wait until the hair grows out so that I can see the final result! It's worth mentioning that Dr. McAndrews performed the transplant himself (with help from his assistants). He made every single one of the incisions (the aspect most critical in determining the final look of the hair i.e. how natural/dense it looks). Again, not all practices take this approach which can lead to inconsistent and unnatural results. I can't speak highly enough of the doctor and his team. The only improvement they could make would be to figure out a way to grow unlimited amounts of my good genetic hair so that I can have an unlimited donor supply. But, from what he tells me, he's working on that too. Fingers crossed :)
