Amazing experience . Dr Paul Wilson made me feel comfortable and at home ( even though I travelled hours away ) Just perfect . All of my worries were quickly gone throughout the process . Dr was understanding , making suggestions that were best for me and explaining every single thing . As well as the rest of his team - like Karen . Everyone was lovely , contacting me and made me feel understood which made me more excited for the surgery than scared . The results of my breast uplift surgery is beyond perfect and i still can’t believe it . Healing process has been smooth and was taken care of post surgery as well . Dr Paul Wilson is incredible at what he does and I will 100% be coming back for procedures I am interested in for the future . Many many thanks Dr !
I recently had a breast augmentation with Paul Wilson at St Joseph's hospital, and I wanted to share my experience to help others as I used this site a lot in the weeks before surgery. From the initial consultation to post-surgery recovery, the entire process was seamless. From the moment I met Paul at my first consultation I knew I was in safe hands. He has a calm demeanor and instantly made me feel at ease. It is clear he is a very experienced and knowledgeable surgeon and he explained all the options to me in detail and the pros and cons of each. I trusted him fully and I am so glad I chose him to perform my BA. I am thrilled with the results and I am healing very well with no pain. I am glad I listened to Paul's advice and feel that the size (360cc) and the subfascial placement of the implants is perfect for me. On the day of the surgery I was a bit nervous when I got to the theatre but the surgical team were very caring and the anaesthetist reassured me that everything would be ok. He was right, I was soon asleep and I woke up feeling fine, no pain or nausea or sore throat that I had read about online. All of the nurses and hospital staff were so lovely and I really enjoyed my overnight stay. The recovery so far has been smooth. I feel great and my only regret if any is that I didn't do this sooner! Updated on 18 Feb 2025: I'm feeling great still. All going well with my recovery and my breasts are feeling softer day by day. I am getting used to sleeping on my back. All my clothes look so much better on now that I have breasts again after a long time feeling very flat chested. I'm so glad I had the augmentation! Updated on 20 Feb 2025: I just had a look at the scars as I usually just replace the micropore surgical tape without really having a good look. They look great and are hardly visible. My right breast and nipple feels absolutely fine. My left is a little numb below the nipple and the nipple is more sensitive but I'm sure this will pass in time. I am doing the breast massage. I'm still very happy with my results and can't stop looking at them! Updated on 2 Mar 2025: Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since my operation. I am loving my new boobs! The scars are healing beautifully. I am just using silicone scar cream now and have stopped using the micropore tape. They don't feel heavy and I have no pain. They feel great! Updated on 18 Mar 2025: Everything is going well. My breasts feel much softer now. I'm still wearing the sports bra but I've just tried on some normal bras that I had in the house to see how they look. I have all different sized bras because my breast size has fluctuated a lot over the years from weight changes to pregnancy and breast feeding. I didn't need an uplift as I didn't have any sagging but the implants have definitely filled the stretchy skin that was left. I feel great! Updated on 22 Apr 2025: Hi, thought I'd post an update. Recovery going well. My breasts feel soft and natural. I was wearing the wrong band size before the augmentation. Most of my bras were 34A but I was probably a small 32B. I'm now measuring as a 32E after a 360cc augmentation so that is a surprise. It's great because I can wear a plunge bra like this to accentuate them or the compression or sports bra if I want to minimise them (not very often that it's the latter though...if you've got it, flaunt it I say... haha) So pleased with the results. The only tricky thing is that a size 10 dress used to fit me well and now they're a bit tight in the bust but that's a small inconvenience. I love them!
From my first consultation a few weeks before my surgery to my post op appointment last week my experience with Paul and his team has been amazing. Not knowing anyone who had had upper eyelid surgery I did my own research and found Paul. He was very reassuring, explained what would happen and talked me through my surgery as it was happening. My recovery was good and my results are exactly what I had hoped for! Thank you!
Paul has been wonderful - I needed implant replacement including revision after 16 years of the same implants and eventual rupture. He not only did a great job of addressing the physical/visual issues but gave detailed information, allowed plenty of time for me to discuss aims for the future - as no implants last for ever - and was realistic about results while also being reassuring due to the restructuring required on one side. I'm now 6 weeks on and things are settling really well, look incredibly natural and the offer of a chance to follow up in 6 months is also reassuring, as all recovery takes time to finalise.
This was my second procedure with Paul and I couldn’t be happier. Paul made me feel comfortable every step of the way. My results are amazing, and I am so so happy. The service I received from both Paul & Karen was 110%. I would highly recommend Paul to anyone wanting breast surgery.
I have just had my 6 week post op check up after my Breast Reduction and lipo. I am over the moon with what Paul was able to achieve with my reduction, even this soon on I can say it has changed my life. During my check up I had some concerns around my lipo and Paul took time to explain things and also offer solutions which was great. I am looking forward to seeing how things settle before my next check up at 6 months. Despite the time of year when I had my surgery (December) Karen was great in responding about my appointments and answering my questions during recovery. The team at St Josephs have been equally as incredible and I highly recommend having your procedure done there.
Genetics has given me a long face, throw in a high forehead and slightly receding hairline - at the sides- finally gave me the determination and courage to do something about it. After a couple of years of researching the procedure and finding he right person to do the op……I found that Paul Wilson, the best person for the job! From the very beginning, Paul was very attentive, informative and I felt very relaxed. I was confident that all my questions were answered and my own expectations were realistic and achievable…… I am so happy with the results, now that my face is more in proportion, I am so much more confident and truly grateful to Paul for contributing towards me living my new, happier self! I had the op at the Wood MediSpa, in Devon…..a beautiful clinic within amazing grounds. The whole experience at the clinic was excellent and all my treatment from Paul himself - along with his great people skills; an essential attribute - including the Anaesthetist, the medical staff caring for me and everyone else there was so great and although I stayed over for one night only, I would have been happier to stay longer! Lol! The only minor issues I had to deal with; a little bald patch (the size of a 5 pence piece) had formed on the top of my head towards my crown - which could be covered easily with my hair - although this did grow back after a few months and I had a very dry scalp for a few months after the op too….all of which has now completely gone, all nerve feelings have come back on my scalp and the scar has healed beautifully! I was completely aware there could be little complications to deal with post op as I had already researched this procedure thoroughly, and regardless of the little blips, I still think whole heartedly, having this operation was one of the best decisions I ever made and requesting Paul to do the surgery was another good call! I actually told Paul, my only regret was not having the op sooner! As it turns out I was probably meant to have the op at the right time for me, financially and emotionally too…..I was ready for it and had plenty of time to plan and heal properly. I can see how desperation to change something you hate about your body - especially on your face as always on show - can cause you to act too quickly and the results can be irreversible……so imperative to find the right surgeon for the job and I’m glad I found the right person for me……Thank you Paul! :)
I had a forehead reduction with Mr Wilson and cannot fault the care Paul and his team have given me. I did a lot of research and am so pleased I found Paul, with my only regret being I didn’t have this procedure done sooner. My scar is healing well and the aftercare has been fantastic. Thank you!
I cannot express how much Paul has changed my life with this procedure, it is something I had thought about for years and I eventually went for it. From initial consultation through to aftercare, I have received nothing but 5 star care from Paul and his team. Paul’s knowledge, experience, and attention to detail is exceptional and I couldn’t be more happier. Any questions I had regarding aftercare were answered promptly and I’ve had regular check ins with Paul after the procedure at different intervals to see how things are going. I cannot thank Paul and his team for changing my life. Before the surgery, I used to feel so self conscious if my hair was to blow out of place and reveal my forehead but as the pictures below show I feel confident now wearing my hair tied back for the first time in my life!
Paul has been absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process of getting my new boobs. He listened to my desires during the consultation and the result is beautiful. Recovery was a breeze and the scars are minimal. I would absolutely use Paul again for any cosmetic surgery I choose to pursue in future.
There are many great surgeons around the world and we, in the UK, do not profess to be any better. However, it is not recommended to travel abroad for your surgery for many reasons. To choose a UK surgeon you should check the GMC register and BAAPS website to ensure you are choosing a registered surgeon who has the appropriate credentials and experience. It will be much harder to verify the experience and credentials of a Turkish surgeon. The costs of the surgery may appear cheaper but there will be many hidden costs including travel and accommodation costs which may end up higher than your UK experience. I would recommend choosing a local surgeon who you can meet and develop a rapport with prior to your surgery. If you have any complications, which may happen, how will you travel back to Turkey and how will your surgeon deal with this scenario? If you cannot travel back to Turkey, how will you afford to pay for further surgery? The NHS may not be able to help you. In summary, the UK offers local experienced, accredited, well trained surgeons who are at hand to guide you through your patient journey. I hope this helps. Paul Wilson
Hi Nadine, I would advise against this surgery if you are on life long apixaban. The risk is obviously bleeding and the secondary effects of stopping your apixaban for the condition it is prescribed for. You could contact your specialist who placed you on this drug to ask their opinion as to whether it is safe to stop the apixaban prior to surgery and for a period afterwards. If you do stop it, then it is likely that some form of heparin will be required during your hospital stay and possibly post-operatively to thin the blood. Paul Wilson
I would not recommend filler as this will increase the volume and length of your nose. It is also temporary and there are significant risks such as skin necrosis and blindness if injected in to the wrong place. Regarding closed rhinoplasty, this is possible but I would recommend an open rhinoplasty for the best results. You would need a significant reduction and reconstruction with cartilage grafts to support your nose and ensure that you can still breath after the operation. If there is any septal deviation this can be corrected at the same time. Hope this helps, best wishes Paul Wilson
Hi, thanks for your question. Did your surgeon have a particular size and shape of implant in mind before doing the mastopexy / reduction? I would personally leave it at least 6 months before proceeding to allow the soft tissues to heal and settle down. You will have a more predictable outcome. You could of course have a chat about it sooner if you wish.
Good question. From your enquiry I would suggest a septo-rhinoplasty. Please provide photos and reasons why you would like the procedure. Uneven nostils and uneven columella suggest asymmetry and deviation, most likely due to septal deviation. This would be an open procedure through a columella incision.
