I started my journey in early 2019 ..around April or May ... I had to go to several appointments to educate myself .... Weigh in and try different eating and excersize strategies.. Barbara..Kim Dr D and all the staff at Riverside weight loss has been great .. caring and understanding... It has been a few times I wanted to give up...a few times I was side tracked and frustrated.. however ...it's 26 days before my surgery and I'm scare .. excited..happy ...sad ...I'm just overwhelmed but not in a bad way..I know there will be great success for me ..as my Dr has assured me that this is a great start at taking care of my health and I completely trust in him ... I've done my research on the actual surgery and also my Dr..he has been on time magazine...and a graduate from duke University...I will keep everyone updated when I start my liquid diet and also pre and post op!!! Wish me luck realselfers!!
Yes, with a BMI of 38.7 and co-morbidities of high blood pressure and high cholesterol, you would be a candidate for gastric bypass. There are other factors such as previous abdominal surgeries, etc. that may impact your options, but based on the information you provided, you would qualify for surgery.
