Dr. Wilson is an artist with fillers and she loves to do lips. She is conservative and careful and refuses to do "duck lips" thank goodness! I just wanted some fullness and my bow back - my shape was good, just flat. I brought in a photo from RealSelf of someone who I thought had a lip shape close to mine and her final result to show Dr. Wilson what I wanted. It was perfect, I am so happy! A numbing cream is applied and you wait for it to take effect. The injections only hurt a little. Tiny amounts of Juviderm are injected and with each little amount added, the results are looked at by the doctor and nurse so that she has fine control of the shape. I had very little swelling, no lip bruising, just a tiny bit on skin at one corner, easily covered. The effect should last 12 - 18 months and I sure will be back when it starts to go. I am appalled at so many of the photos of lip plumping here and to see their bruises and swelling, sometimes even weeks later! Boy, their doctors must have a heavy hand injecting them - I would be so mad and would never be back it that had been the case with me. I was sure my husband would notice when I first came home, but icing kept the swelling down and by even the next day, I felt no one would know, perfect! And just this little bit of change was what I needed to perk me and my face up. Aging is not for sissies, but Dr. Pat and Dermatology Associates can help make it easier and prettier! She does botox and some line fillers for me also, all I have been very happy with.
