Loved my experience from start to finish. I usually use humor to make an uncomfortable situation more comfortable. Dr Ochoa and his nurse, Crystal, treats their patients with TLC. They don’t set a # of the volume of implant to be inserted. It’s very patient specific and they factor in comfort of the patient, esp what treatment they gone thru already. I did LAT flap on the Phase I reconstructive surgery in July 2018. Four months later... did my phase II reconstruction. Whenever I have a question... they’re very prompt on their response.
Dr. O performed my DIEP Flap Breast Reconstruction immediately following a bilateral mastectomy. From my first consultation, I knew he was the right choice. Dr. O is a talented physician with expertise in the specialized microvascular procedures required with DIEP reconstruction. He stays informed and up-to-date with the latest techniques, including performing microneurorrhaphy (when possible) which helps restore sensation in the breast. I am almost 6 weeks out and have nearly full sensation in both breasts, my incisions look great, and I'm headed back to work in a few days! Dr. O is not only a fantastic surgeon, he is a kind and polite man who treats his patients with respect. I am so blessed to have him as my Plastic Surgeon and am looking forward to my Phase 2 surgery in a few months. I cannot recommend Dr. Oscar Ochoa highly enough!
The current recommendations for breast cancer screening in potential breast augmentation patients are that patients without a personal history of breast cancer or other type of breast pathology undergo mammography if they are 35 years of age or older. Patients with a strong family history of breast cancer or previous abnormal self-breast exams or mammograms in the past would benefit from pre-operative breast cancer screening if older than 25 years of age.
