Dr. Tessler is a lipo and contouring genius. He really impressed me with all he did in one session. I went in only wanting stomach and arms done but altogether he was able to do chin, stomach 360, arms, pubic area and armpits for the original low cost he provided. All done with skin tightening and added twilight to not be awake. I was concerned with my csection area but he was able to fix my concerns and the swelling is still going down. I have a brand new body that I don’t believe I could have achieved myself whatsoever. I feel like it took 10 years off me. Only downside is because of how much he did recovery was tough. At 6 weeks post op I started to feel about 60-75 percent better but my pain tolerance is lower than most. Arms were the toughest part. But I’m so happy I chose Tessler Plastic Surgery.
I had my first treatment last August. I have had numerous laser treatments over the past ten years and this was by far the least painful and much more effective. The treatment was pretty pain free. My face was completely numbed and the doctor gave me some medications prior to the treatment that also insured a pain free experience! I was very bruised and the "holes" are pretty pronounced at first but after the first 6 days I was able to cover it with makeup! It never hurt which is such a different experience from the various lasers I have had. The lines in my lip was vastly improved! I am 66 so I have some lax skin and lines on my cheeks as well. All was improved and I was happy, but was told for the best outcome two to three treatment would be needed. I have been too busy to do the second treatment but have one scheduled for early June. I am excited to see how good a second treatment will look! Dr Tessler also added a treatment called Nano fat. He removed a little fat from my stomach and created a nano fat which he sent home with me. I used it like a cream daily and it supposedly goes into the holes in the skin and the cells grow and fill in for a better outcome. Ultimately I would say I highly recommend it! Little to no pain, fast recovery and identifiable results!
The entire process, from start to finish, was remarkably smooth. The staff was incredible and genuinely empathetic towards my concerns. I am genuinely pleased with the outcome of the surgery and deeply appreciate Dr. Tessler's excellent level of care.
I had fat transfer to my breasts on June 8th 2023. This is something I've been researching for years as I knew I did not want to get implants. I had a consultation a year prior and was told I was not a good candidate, I was thinner at the time (from being sick for a while) and he said I did not have enough fat and I would not get a good result based on how much fat might die. A year later, I found a surgeon who uses "EVFT" - enhanced viability fat transfer. They use a system called Viality from Sientra. Part of the process with this system includes a wash with a polaxamer called P188 - this ensures the fat that ultimately gets transferred is of high quality and which improves retention rate. There are a lot of studies on P188 if you're interested in researching. All this to say, with gaining weight back and access to this new technology it seemed like a great opportunity. I'm 36, 5'4, 137lbs, 27" waist, 38" hips, wore a 34C bra (I really think my breasts looked more like a B, but 34C fit me best), 2 children of which I nursed both. Doctor said he could confidently increase my size by a full cup and then before I had my surgery, he said he might be able to do a cup and a half considering my breasts had been so large during nursing (DD) so my skin had already shown the ability to stretch a lot. Posting this 14 days post surgery. Here has been my experience so far: Surgery day - I had 360 lipo plus lipo to outer thighs and banana rolls and bodytite on my abdomen. I was awake for the surgery, it was not too bad, definitely really out of it, I kept falling asleep, dreaming, waking up and then telling them about my dreams lol. First week - I was pretty sore, I felt like I had given birth because my body was so sore and my breasts felt like they were engorged with milk. I was up and walking around day after but very sore. I sleep with a wedge to keep me propped up and on my back (I am a major belly sleeper so this has been tough). The garment isn't too bad, my breasts have been exposed this whole time and wearing loose fitted clothes. By end of week one I was feeling pretty ok and started going on short walks. The whole time I had minimal bruising and my lipo sites have been healing up great. Week 2 - at day 14, it was the first day I woke up and got out of bed without pain. I think I only have 1 out of 15 or so lipo sites that still have yet to heal over at this point. The first 14 days I've been "feeding the fat". The first 7 days, I definitely did this more and focused on getting in high calories per the instruction of my doctor to compensate for the metabolic process that would happen post surgery and risk fat cells dying. I didn't notice swelling start to go down until about day 8 and now at day 14, I feel like my swelling has subsided quite a bit but I should expect that I still have some swelling happening and will continue to go down. Here are my concerns at this point in time: - I really hope my breasts stay close to where they are, they have come down with swelling and probably some cell death but where there are today, I am very happy. - I am concerned that the right side of my upper thigh where I had lipo on the banana roll was too excessive and might have caused drooping. - Bodytite continues to work over a 6 month period. Right now, I still have loose skin and this was one of the main things I wanted addressed. So far there has been a significant change but there is some surface loose skin that I hope continues to tighten over time. I have a follow up with my doc in a couple weeks and will continue to update/share. Once I feel like I am at more of a "steady" state, I will share more info like the doctor I went with and cost. Updated on 11 Jul 2023: I had my one month check in a few days ago. Doc is happy with the results so far. He says that my breasts should stay where they’re at now and the places he harvested from should continue to go down and just continue to enhance the overall effect. I am happy with the overall result so far. I really just wanted to remove some of the affect of having babies - inflate the girls back up, tighten the stomach, and while I think it’s still a work in progress - it’s pretty great and I feel confident. I really loved my boobs at 2 weeks though! Already thinking mayyybe I’ll do another round down the road but this was pricey so I’ll hold off for a while. Updated on 10 Aug 2023: I’m really happy with the results - especially my breasts and general contour improvement - it wasn’t significant but subtle in a really nice way. I am hoping that the bodytite continues to tighten the skin on my abdomen, I’ve read it continues to improve and tighten for up to 6 months. I’m happy with the results so far, however this was the area I was really focused on and would like for it to be better still. The doc set my expectations that he wanted to first see how far the bodytite would take me before looking at additional options. I had minimal loose skin to begin with. He removed 700ccs of fat and put in 260ccs per breast with EVFT. Updated on 17 Oct 2023: Happy with my results! Still have a little time for the bodytite to do more of its magic. Fat is stable at this point. I am considering in the future doing another round of fat transfer, just to achieve “extra” results. My main goal was just to bring life back into them from after breastfeeding , which I think this did. Also, I might look at other options to continue work on the loose skin. It’s a lot better than it was! Love that this is all done without major cuts or implants :).
Dr. Tessler and the entire staff were incredible … the Airsculpt full abdomen procedure was so well worth it and I got such good care from start to finish thank you Dr. Tessler and staff! Dr Tessler is so knowledgeable and precise in his work . One week out and I already see results. So excited.
Experience was great. The only issue I had was them being over booked on the day of my surgery so my start time was 11:30 but they didn’t start until closer to 3. That gave my anxiety time to be heightened it was bad lol but other than that, when it started happening it was super painful I would say I only had moments of discomfort and Dr. Tessler kept me laughing.. recovery WAS NOT as quick as 48 hrs im on day 4 and still exhausted when I walk too long but this is so much easier than a more invasive since there’s no drains and my incisions are pretty much closed… I can kind of see results my butt is bigger and my waist is more sculpted but there’s still a lot of swelling in my stomach. I am also down to the first notch on my garment so clearly the results are there! Excited to see the final results
After almost 14 years since my first bilateral mastectomy (tram flap) at age 29, and the 9 failed breast reconstruction surgeries by other plastic surgeons over the years, I finally feel confident in my own skin at 43 yrs old. I’m grateful every day that I discovered Dr. Oren Tessler! After my surgeries prior to finding Dr. Tessler, I felt like a hopeless cause…that I’d have to just learn to live with my uneven breasts, and with how unattractive I felt. That was extremely hard for me. After my consultation with Dr. Tessler in the fall of 2018, my husband and I both knew we had found the one who could fix my broken parts, and help me feel “normal” again. He was/is always very attentive to my needs, and is so passionate about what he does. I had/have complete trust in Dr Tessler. The results from my surgeries have far exceeded my expectations! I’ll never be able to thank him enough. How he has transformed my body, and with the confidence that I now feel, so many aspects of my life, and my family’s life, have been positively impacted. Dr. Tessler has done a phenomenal job, and I’m still in awe of what incredible advancements have been made in the medical world, thanks to doctors like him.
Dr. Tessler was highly recommended by a close friend. From the first phone call I got a great vibe from the staff. They really went the extra mile from the beginning. My consultation was like we were old friends catching up, Dr. T knew exactly what I was wanting in my augmentation. I’m 47 and have never felt well per-portioned in my body. Dr T and his staff have made this experience as painless as possible, especially since I have a real anxiety over surgery. I am just over two months from my surgery and I can’t believe how proportioned I feel in my body now! Dr T did an amazing job! Absolutely recommend!
Dr. Tessler did liposuction to my abdomen and back. He is so knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable before and after my procedure. I am so happy with my results! I highly recommend getting liposuction done by Dr. Tessler!!!
Wonderful! I came to Dr. Tessler as a third opinion of my breast reconstruction. He was recommended to me by another highly regarded breast reconstruction expert in AZ. I had been given misinformation from my original plastic surgeon and was trying to figure out my best option after a bilateral mastectomy. I was a bit apprehensive as I thought my original Doc was great until I learned the only option he gave me had a high complication rate. Dr. Tessler was really kind, and most importantly he was extremely informative. We reviewed all of the options I originally had for reconstruction and what he thought was the best plan now. We discussed the DIEP flap procedure in detail and he showed me a number of photos to help explain everything. I am excited to proceed with Dr. Tessler and will upload info and pics as things progress. Also, Dr. Tessler’s patient coordinator, Erin, has been extremely helpful navigating the insurance portion.
Thank you for your excellent question. Radiation has a definite effect on complication rates. My last paper I co-authored looking at implant complications in 500 consecutive cases at Harvard showed an overall complication of 12.4% with under 2% loss of implant. Overall complications can increase to over 30% with radiation before implant reconstruction. There are several reasons for this. In your case, the skin and its small vessel blood supply has already been affected by radiation. While it may not look like much, the added stress of reconstruction increases complication chances. Further, the skin is less elastic and so does not "stretch" as well if you receive expanders. For the next part of your question, prepectoral (above the muscle) implants have been gaining in popularity and definitely has some advantages, particularly in skinny women who are highly active as they cause less displacement when contracting the pectoral muscles. However, there are some disadvantages, such as missing the well-vascularized and protective muscle layer between the implant and the skin and the potential of more palpable (easier to feel) position. For a pre-radiated breast these problems may compound and increase your risk of complications further. One of the biggest issues is long-term hardening of the implant capsule. We normally grade the degree of capsular contracture from 1-4 and a quick rule of thumb during consultation is to "guesstimate" that a radiated breast will have one additional point of contracture compared to a non-radiated breast. Nevertheless, everyone is an individual and many choose to go through implant reconstruction with an understanding of these risks. This should be discussed in depth with your reconstructive surgeon. From my experience, in the situation you described, using your own tissue (autologous) reconstruction has the best long-term cosmetic appearance and patient satisfaction with an over 99% success rate. It brings in healthy tissue with its own healthy blood supply and can be used to create the breast itself or with an implant underneath. With experienced teams, the hospital stay can be as short as three days (as opposed to two days consistent with implant reconstruction). Further, the procedure should be efficient in experienced hands so should not effect your body's ability to recover. I hope this helps and best of luck. I appreciate your question as it is a concern often expressed. The timing of reconstructive surgery post-chemotherapy has not shown to be a consistent predictor of complications. Thus, having gone through chemotherapy is not considered an issue that should impact timing. There is some data that overall, people who have undergone chemotherapy may have more minor (ie: issues that are easily treated as an outpatient) complications than those that do not, but this increase is not associated with the timing of surgery. Chemotherapy is in general NOT considered to impact rates for major complications, extra return trips to the operating room, and reconstructive failure. The pictures you displayed shows delayed wound healing, with what is called dehiscence (wound re-opening) of some of your wounds. There can be many causes for this and final outcomes vary, but it should be followed closely and you should inform your surgeon so he can appropriately examine you and decide on how best to treat this. Often, these wounds heal with time, patience, and without complication. Best.
